Bush/Cheney Impeachment – The process is underway.

Right, what is it that Bush says? Fool me once, shame on....you can't be fooled twice. He fooled you twice, shame on you.

Bush/Cheney Impeachment – The process is underway.

In many ways yes, but it would show the world that the actions of these men do not represent American values. At some point there has to be some effort to mending a broken image. I agree that it will never happen, not a chance.

Bush/Cheney Impeachment – The process is underway.

The amazing part is that he became president in the first place. Quite ridiculous.

He's being interviewed this Sunday on CNBC. Whatever Maria's show is that day.

    Euronext and NYSE questions...

Maybe we'll get lucky and be able to trade Euronext stocks on NYSE during our normal hours, possibly even NYSE stocks on Euronext during their session. It could be a good way to get volume revenue for them. Maybe you could arrange this Don? Tell them I think it's a good idea :)

Taxes and trading in Canada - question

I agree with all 7 point except for #2. In the long run you end up keeping more money because of the tax deferal. Just like an RRSP, where you'll pay the same tax rate someday (if still in top bracket), but you'll pay that % on a larger amount. As these guys have all said, you absolutely...

Good poker player = good trader?

Yes I get tired of it, that's the point. If the two professions were so interchangeable do you think Daniel Negreanu and Johnny Chan would be playing poker? They'd make many many many times as much trading. Agree to disagree :)

Good poker player = good trader?

Have you witnessed this first hand? Who are these traders? I would just be careful about buying into a belief that may not be as clear as people think. I may be 100% wrong on this subject, maybe I just need some evidence.

Good poker player = good trader?

I think a lot of traders enjoy poker so they stretch to find similarities between the two. I love trading, detest poker. I do not believe for a second that a good poker player will make a good trader or vice versa.

    Assent, LLC

I would like to hear from anyone who has current experience with Assent. Any traders doing a couple of million shares a month with them that are happy/unhappy? How does Anvil/Hammer compare to RediPlus? Thanks in advance.

Taxes and trading in Canada - question

Yes. Corporate tax rates provide significant savings. If you are in the top tax bracket and don't plan on paying yourself your full earnings, then incorporate. You can open investment accounts in your corporation's name and leave funds in there indefinately.

Do you yell and scream at the computer if you do a bad trade?

On a move like that, stop orders would not be effective. They won't be magically filled at a price that the stock gapped right through. I agree with Rearden. Stop orders are amateur, with the exception of swing trading. I don't know any active traders that use hard stop orders. Even the...

When Bernanke speaks he reminds me

I hope he tells us everything from what he had for breakfast in the morning, to what he dreamt about at night.

When Bernanke speaks he reminds me

Are we traders or investors? How lame were all the interest rate decisions for the past three years??? If Bernanke brings uncertainty to the markets, then all the better.

    Homebuilding Woes

It would be interesting to do an overlay of that chart on a chart of US home prices for the same time period.

    Homebuilding Woes

HOV hit a low of 29.05 today with a 52-week high of 73.40. All of the other majors pounded as well. Homebuilder threads were rampant on the way up, so what are people's thoughts now? Leading indicator for US housing prices?

    Bright Trade

All established traders know that you cannot use advertised rates to really know what you would pay with a firm. If you're a well capitalized, somewhat high volume trader, you have to call different firms for specific pricing. Also, the $400 desk fee is fully rebated if you average a million...
