    RMBS Nov $20 strike calls

Anyone catch this earlier today?? They are already up like 900% & expire tomorrow, but RMBS looks poised to burst $20. Nice volume so far at 35000+ contracts.

EAT has to be short of century.

Its probably a combination of things, such as the available float plus some speculation. If I am not mistaken the parent of Outback Steakhouse is going private for an insane amount of money. This move definitely bodes well for the dining space, since there are not many of these specific niche...

GM & F: Burn in Hell!

I recall around three to six months ago seeing absolutely insane put volume buying on GM for leaps and longer term contracts. In particular the Jan 08 puts from $20 all the way down to the whopping $2.50 strike. One position purchased in one block was worth nearly a $20 million debit. And...

    CME December Iron Condors

You might also want to keep in mind that a stock like CME will most likely continue making new highs and perform extremely well as we close out this trading year. There are people out there who will need to play musical chairs or simply disassociate their losers at some point in December and...

What can I do with a naked GOOG put?

what is the net credit of this put for you?? If you are bullish going into the last trading month on GOOG, buy a $460 put to cover. With the run up the last couple days, you might have some decent equity built into that spread, because the $460 put is going to be "cheaper" to purchase now vs...

    Vix heading lower

You are right. It definitely seems odd. When I saw it this morning also, it jumped out immediately at me. They look really underpriced here, but I just dont feel comfortable banking on the VIX hanging at these lower levels for another near 5 weeks. Maybe thats why they are so cheap.

    Vix heading lower

The spread is actually correct .30/.35 and there was some healthy volume today. From what I can tell, like 85-90% of the trades were all hit on the ask, so new long put positions are banking on the VIX being 10.65 or lower next month. But on the flip side, there was a bunch of calls purchased...

    Vix heading lower

How far out are you? that really sucks. If you are looking out longer term, can you sell some higher strikes to at least reduce your cost? Or it sounds like you are in a purely whole position with more exposure if VIX continues this trend and only able to get out with an increase in volatility?

Thanks for the input. For some reason, Apple always stuck out in recollection for me. At that point in time, you never saw a company of that caliber or magnitude lose 50% of its market cap in afterhours. It wasnt a high beta mover like CMRC, ARBA, JNPR, or MSTR etc. The drop was from $35ish...

Absolutely nothing. My only issue now is timing. I really regret being too busy and tuning out of the market this past spring/summer, because there were some great setups and entry points, but of course that always goes without saying in retrospect.

    Vix heading lower

Pretty comical. Couple tidbits. 1. Does anyone know with certainty, where the VIX was in the fall of 2001 right around the time when Apple was the 1st tech company to have a huge earnings disappointment & received an overnight 50% haircut, and very shortly after, the entire tech market...
