The Beginning of Massive Securities Regulation is Upon us

Hey guy theres always going to be new rules, but you have to be able to work with them. one trick ponies come and go, year after year in this business. If you live in fear of rule changes then your mental state can't be nearly strong enough to recover from a significant drawdown. Adapt or Die.

The Beginning of Massive Securities Regulation is Upon us

You do realize the uptick was created during the depression to prevent another crash like 1929. Why should shitbirds be able to 100 share tick out of thin stocks all day. I do think the rule is a waste in stocks that do appropriate volume but, the fact remains, anyone can make money long or...

    The Bear Market is Over

The belief around here and that bull and bear markets begin and end every three days is frickin hilarious. Oil drops, so the world is saved, jobs will fall from the sky, gas will be $2/gallon by the weekend, and home sales will rise 20% by year end. unless of course reality befalls the...

This is what a 'bank run' looks like...

one account is one account. A revocable trust that governs several accounts isn't an account. Its a legal document that oversee's the handling of several accounts, all of which have their own fdic insurance. No?

This is what a 'bank run' looks like...

It don't matter how many names are on an account. It's one account. FDIC insured for $100k. Mislead? ha. Over the last ten years, I was told "I did not have sexual relations with that women", "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction", "Mission Accomplished", "Bear Sterns is adequately...

After IndyMac's failure, which bank could be next?

i find it hilarious that within two years of relaxing. or in some cases, completely eliminating rules that were put in place following the Great Depression, we are staring down another one.

After IndyMac's failure, which bank could be next?

banks with huge midwest retail exposure. Nat city, key, and Fifth Third come to mind. Comeria could also be thrown in there, but they have always been more business banking than retail. Some of these guys were targets of bigger boys just a few years ago, but who the hell wants to buy them...

    Goldman Says SELL Fannie/Freddie:

yeah thanks goldman, you've dumped your holdings and now you say sell. GM burning more cash than most companies could ever fathom, it went from 38 to 12 and then it was a sell. Why does this company get the respect it does? They hip pocket the SEC, fuck over middle class America, at...

General Motors to hold news conference Tuesday...

Yeah unfortunately they'd charge 20k just to cover health care expenses from those well negotiated UAW contracts. btw I do own a gm product and will always do so. Born and raised in Detroit and I always buy American. But I hate the arrogance that plaques the way this company is run...

General Motors to hold news conference Tuesday...

oh yes. interesting. "We intend to shift our focus away from the SUV market" revolutionary thinking! Where do i apply for the CEO job? What the hell do these people pay Wagonier yearly? He clearly has the pulse of the market.

Daytrading- Big Picture and Volume Analysis

agreed. the prevailing thought was more volume would bring more patience. But since the volume has come in the form of the impatient rebate trader, we actually see bigger whips. The stock, over time, usually still goes where it belongs Adapt or die.

So will Monday be Black Monday for real this time?

yeah no uncertainty. I mean I have a home listed $100k under its "market price" and can't get an offer. but theres no uncertainty. GM, fannie and freddie are all staring down insolvency. AAA holdings not six years ago. but hey theres no "uncertainty". wake up and get a clue.

Daytrading- Big Picture and Volume Analysis

volume viewed the right way is a great indicator. i couldn't agree more. unfortunately some souless bastard at goldman didn't find that rewarding enough. Now we have more people trading volume (to get rebated) then trading for profit, which actually leads to an inefficient market. An orderly...

Daytrading- Big Picture and Volume Analysis

Volume. Ha. Its supposed to provide a key to direction, but since the majority waits for it, it get exploited and used. Electronic trading was supposed to allow for more volume and less volatility. Instead it leads to more market manipulation than ever.
