    Best explanation for today?

IMO ....... The last two trading days are classic "Black Swan" and it was out of the blue. Media coverage and ET activity before Friday: NIL, with the standard stories on the economy - are we heading for a decline, will the markets continue to rise? Blah Blah Blah. Media coverage and ET...

    Best explanation for today?

Today's market (and Friday's) was a "black swan" event. No ET or media chatter beforehand. Lots of ET and media chatter during and after. :)

    QQQ 1-strike OTM's ask at $1.78 - Last week $0.32

QQQ at $99.58 100 weekly call at $1.78 (ask) Last week similar option (1-strike OTM) was going for $0.32 at about the same time on Monday. :)

why are AUG 15 options still listed?

August 21, 2015? I see August 28, 2015 options but not any previous weeks. Try reloading your browser, Yahoo usually discontinues option listings within hours of expiry. :)

Futures down almost 2% - Monday doesn't look so good

Options will be VERY EXPENSIVE this week. I would like to buy some QQQ weekly calls on Tuesday or Wednesday, but I would need a large bounce (much larger than usual) for them to payoff. 1-strike OTM ($0.50 otm) QQQ weekly calls are usually less than $0.40 at Monday's close - my guess they will...

Futures down almost 2% - Monday doesn't look so good

Futures down almost 2% Monday, August 24 will be another big down day on the markets. :)

Help with SIG Interview Question about Options

IMO ..... You also have to take into account a guaranteed payout of $1.00 - that would lower the bid. :)
  11. OTM-Options

    More Downside....

The sharp decline was erased in a week or so - No doubt this week will be very volatile. :)

Help with SIG Interview Question about Options

Payout will range from $1.00 to $6.00 and you only want to pay $0.53? :)
  13. OTM-Options

    More Downside....

Option Expiration had absolutely nothing to do with the big drop on Thursday and Friday. Any influence option expiration might have on the markets would cause the markets to trade flat - as in Maximum Pain or Pinning - both which are a myth. :)

$3.00 for each roll ....... My final answer. EDIT: newwurldmn your question asked "How much are you willing to pay". I'm willing to pay $3.00 - so how can my answer be wrong? :)

When SPY Sells off 5% in Two Days

Could you quote my post(s) you are referring to? Could you quote my post(s) you are referring to? Once again you are taking the discussion out of context. Perhaps you could take the time and read the thread before you post and not be so hostile and defensive. :)

    Zerohedge claim

Could you summarize if for us? I had a quick look but I don't feel like reading the whole thing to determine if they are bullish or bearish. What is their projected target for the S&P ...... and when? :)

When SPY Sells off 5% in Two Days

Perhaps it's the voices in jimmyjazz's head controlling what he posts - LOL. But his post was clearly referring to ITM vs OTM. As far as calls vs puts is concerned when I see someone mention "Selling Credit Spreads" I assume it's an Iron Condor type of position involving both puts and calls -...

jimmyjazz ....... You are a slow learner stuck in newbie mode. My post is in reply to md2324's post: OTM credit spreads was the topic of my post. Try and keep your replies in context of the discussion. :)
