    Midnight rally

Would'nt surprise me if they were indeed actively manipulating the markets. The YM has moved up 600 odd points since the big dip without one single session of profit taking, very unusual. The current govt. suits manipulate everything else and find they can get away with it. So why not the market.

    Fooled by Randomness

imo the random/chaotic nature of the market can be plotted like a bell curve. At either ends you have periods of high price predictibility with a vast mass of price randomness in the middle. eg, if you watch the price ladder, at key price areas and times you will see increased agitation...

    Coin Flips

That's where your money management comes into play. The approx noise on the YM is 11 ticks, ie, after an entry you have to allow for a 11 tick move away from your entry if you dont want to be whipsawed by the noise. Now instead of using time bars, use the appropriate volume bars. You get much...

    Coin Flips

Coin flip is a random strategy with a 50% win probability over the long run. As long as you cut your losses and let your profits run, with a 50% system you come out ahead. Alternating entry/exits is different than a wholly random entry. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Dealing with Trend days vs Range days: Psychology and Pulling the Trigger

You make a valid point about the "coin flip" . I looked at some stats while back and seems most large sucessful traders are right only 40% of the trades. If one can get hold of their money management rules, Coin flip bring that edge up to 50%. Probably works best with Volume charts.

    China revaluation imminent?

The retail markups are outrageous. Walmart is not the cheapest around. Go to a super dollar store and the you find the exact same crap for 1.00 vs. 3.99 or 4.99 at walmart. Selling at a 1.00, The average gross profit in these super dollars is around 50%. It's not the Chinese getting wealthy off...

He pays premium prices for information. That's his main "edge". I'm sure he's a super trader to boot. ------------------- Excerpt: "Stevie," as he's known on Wall Street, is one of the few to pay full freight. He hands over about $150 million a year in commissions to Wall Street, making...

    Midnight rally

Your thesis is too many hedge funds in oil hence its climb up? therefore If they sell, oil goes down. Since imo $60 oil seems to be priced into the current market, If oil goes down, it helps companies bottom line hence increased earnings? Hence stocks move higher for the near term?

    Very bullish

Yeah I saw that massive V bottom too. But I'm not at all bullish, although I did cover my short postions and went long today. Who am I to argue with insanity, just go with the flow and take the money. I'll be busy shorting next week though.

    Unemployment rate is down -unbelievable!!

The unemployment rate is much higher than the numbers the govt. puts out. Many individual unemployment benefits ran out, and the rate of lay-offs has decreased this year because most companies have no more workers to cut. Once you stop getting payments, you stop being counted. The way these...
