I'm a new YM, ES trader. What do you guys think about the pivot points strategy? It seam to me like a good way to earn some money. Now I need to work on the execution... Are you using this strategy?

Can someone explain the difference between initial and maintenance margin? Is maintenance valid once you are in a position? thanks

My second computer is a Vostro witch I use for the internet, music etc. Not sure I would use it for my trading platform. I guess it depend on your budget.

Go with the precision. They are the business model and are perfect for trading. I use the 5400 and its great, I would not change. The 3400 are also fine. I had dozen of computers in the last 15 years and I'm really impress with Dell.

Of course I hedge at the bottom. The guys told me we can ask for a compensation by writing, that what I will do.

Same for me. I was long YM, hedge with ES. I call them, they have no idea what is going on.

Get the book Mastering the trade by John Carter. His section on the business plan really help me. Also the daily profit and drawdown target are a must, all nicely explain in the same chapter.

I actually start today. It was a crazy day trading the ES but I manage to have a winning day :). Since the pic was taken, I switch to ninjatrader so no more IB charts (and no more stockhouse).

Here mine! Its a new setup since i'm a new trader. I use 2 computers, one for the platform and one to browse the internet. The dell 24'' ultrasharp are great.

IB is the only potable way to go in Canada.
