Why do people use Volume, Range and Tic charts?

I think it is meant to avoid the other traders with similar strategies (same efffect as frontrun)... but my guess is sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't because the other guys are also shifting

    How do you feel?

How come you think traders produce nothing? A value investor "produce" correct price so that the market can function properly. Think price discovery. A trend follower "produce" more efficient market by shortening the time between disequlibrium. Think faster time from Price A to Price B...

A gift. Thank me after you get rich.

If you take a look at how the CPI is calculated, you may begin to think that the GDP minus actual inflation is actually negative... Take a look at this article from the SF Fed http://www.frbsf.org/econrsrch/wklyltr/el97-16.html IMO the most interesting part lies under the title "Quality...

A gift. Thank me after you get rich.

The US market is supposed to fall long time ago but somehow still manage to hang on - years after years after years... I guess there is a formula to stay afloat - print money (increase money supply at 18% a year), use the money to buy stock index futures (particularly dow), and sell short...

Is it possible to reduce risk to zero?

Actually sounds like it would work to me. The problem is you need a pretty solid entry strategy. Also, don't go the "extremely" small profit path, retail traders aren't meant for that. You can expect a low winning % for your "zero risk" strategy, and you should really opt for the big runs and...

    Mentors?

ha, I think you're absolutely right. In fact, I think I see more fat tails in trading information than otherwise implied by standard normal distribution. Once in a while, I see *really* useful ideas popping up from no where, and it could be a public forum or a book that cost only $20...

    Mentors?

09-21-06 11:57 AM I only got the 1998 copy. Looks like he's got a new edition this november. I suppose the new one would be better?! The most important concept from the book is expectancy. It's not originated from this book, but it explains it in well. I saw that many people discuss...
