I am not saying they do or not do risk money in the market. I would think they do so but it is not verified at the moment. WS is focused on the US market. So right now the orders have to be published before the US market opens. Execution takes place during the normal trading hours. I agree, a...

To be more specific, WS runs the orders every minute to execute the trades as realistic as possible. Limit and stop orders are executed are executed during the day.

    Survivorship bias

Let’s get back to the topic. This is more important than you think. Most researchers, even the big guys fail to consider it. This is bad. Really bad.

    Survivorship bias

In reply to my reply, if you see on the main page of WealthData you see the price difference of the most popular data provider (Yahoo) and WealthData. This price differences often make the difference of getting in a position or exiting it. However when we researched our real results and compared...

    Survivorship bias

I am on my mobile now but Igel the need to do a quick reply. We have done an intense work on survivorship and on the data itself. The result can be found on wealth-data. It’s not only survivorship, Otis also what we call „tradeable data“. More after my kids birthday party.

How to compare strategies that trade infrequently / frequently (and select one of them)

Before you go into analyzing, one would need more information. 1. What market did you test on (stocks, forex,...). 2. If stocks did you consider survivorship bias? 3. If Futures, did you consider rollover? 4. Did you consider worst case scenarios, based on your money management settings? 5...

This world is getting so complex... 1099 in the US, SSN in Switzerland, AOE in Austria.... I think you get the picture. Each country has their own rule, but they all have one in common: If you have income, you have to declare it. So the best way for each publisher is, to declare his income.

I personally prefer strategies that have a backtested result, which can easily be uploaded. That way it can reduce the "observation" or "out of sample" period dramatically. At the moment there are no limits on how many offerings (published trading ideas) a publisher can offer.

Nice examples. However, I still like to see results before 2012. We all know that it has been a bull market for the longest time. Just buying QLD 10 years ago would have been a good "system". I need to see how did a system perform when times were rough. Hence 20 years historical data (none...

Thanks for the suggestions. We believe that publishing the backtest results and then compare them with the forward results is a semi "certification". Where do you see the good strategies on C2 that have been around for more than 5 years? Personally I am skeptical on any system that is not...

WealthSignals is taking the trading business serious. We believe that a system author is planning to get subscribers. So buy posting "No Signals" which takes just a few minutes, you show that you are serious about it. However, we are discussing ways to publish NST for a longer period, since an...

I am not sure if I can follow you. Is that a "strategy" you trade or just some indicator you look at to make up your mind what to do next? If it is a strategy, did you test it?

Guys, I think you should really carefully backtest whatever strategy you are trading. Just because something works for now doesn't mean it is working tomorrow. Ofcourse the past is not necessary indicating how the future might be but I like to believe that a strategy should at least have worked...

Ok here the promised test and some comments I get from the good guys from my team. Apparently there are about 3 versions of this. We looked at all of them and none really were in any way profitable. None of them had real trading rules. In the book LW doesn't explain much how it may be used for...

How would you raise $70k in capital if you have $40k and a viable trading strategy?

If some trades a strategy I would be sceptical without also seeing a nacktest result that goes back to 1998. So that you cover some interesting times and possible worst case scenarios. A few years of real-time records are not really representative. I also think that for small traders should use...

Just came across this one. Anyone ever tested it? What the heck, I will test it on NQ100 from 1990 until today. Any special rules you wish me to include. After all it will be an OOS for 17 years.
