    Trader Interviews

Last year I let a guy interview me about trading. He concentrates on the psychology of daytrading, and the results are going to be published on a new website that is supposed to be up in a month. I recently spoke with him by email, and he said he is looking for more traders to interview...

    Worse Case planning?

I have an APC battery backup that will give me enough time to exit positions. Should be interesting today.

    Global Access Finance

**are you pretty content with them?** Yeah, I am very happy with CyberTrader overall. I am looking into other firms just to see if I can lower my commissions. I really like CyberXchange ECN and wish other firms had the same thing. (There are similar tools with other brokers, but nothing I...

The most important tool for me is the RSI on the Cyber charts (see chart at link below). It's great for finding turning points. On the Qcharts I have changed things since that picture you are referring to (at http://www.iwinfree.com/qchartsscreen.JPG Now on the Qcharts I have Directional...

    Anyone actually succeeding?

I don't watch the full contracts, just the e-mini's. But the symbols for each vary by quote provider. For example: <u>Quote.com/Qcharts:</u> Nasdaq 100 e-mini's - CME:NQ01H S&P e-minis - CME:ES01H S&P regular futures - CME:SP01H <u>CyberTrader:</u>(not sure if these are...

    Anyone actually succeeding?

A few of stocks that fit that criteria are JNPR, CIEN, PMCS (although PMCS is light on the ECN side). My ECN preference goes like this: ISLD INCA REDI ARCA BTRD others... You can email me with other comments at dust247@pacbell.net. Dustin

    Anyone actually succeeding?

I wanted to comment on one of Fleance's comments. He said <i>"...and rather than having your head stuck in the sand staring at a Level2 screen on one stock, it is better to be scanning the entire market, news, etc."</i> I really don't think this applies to everyone. I used to trade the...

praetorian, I use CyberTrader and Qcharts. I subscribe to Qcharts to have access more sophisticated charts, and Time & Sales data for the Nasdaq and S&P futures. There's a pic of this setup at: http://www.iwinfree.com/screen.htm (Scroll to the bottom of the page)

    taxes/retirement

BigEd, When you set up a LLC are the tax brackets the same as for individuals? Eg. If I pay x% this year under trader status, would I still pay the same x% as an LLC? Are the only benefits the write-offs/deductions? Thanks for your help. Dustin

BigEd, Have you set up a Limited Liability Company? If so was it difficult, timely, expensive?

I think if you declare trader status you should be able to do that. Otherwise I am not sure. I plan on setting that up next year also.

Fyi qcharts had server problems this morning. I had to download a new version of this .dll file in order to get it working. Try again tomorrow. To see if qcharts is having problems go to View-System Status Button. Click that button and read the updates.

    Estimated Taxes

I also declared trader status for this year, and made my first estimated payments in Q3. You have to pay federal and state. My accountant told me that I just have to pay estimated payments on last years taxes. Basically you use last years income as a guide for this year. Then, in April you...

    Traders Block

I would suggest implementing your system on a small scale for 2-4 weeks, until you know that the system works. Hopefully trading small with consistent profits would reduce your fears. I used this strategy a while back and after two weeks of small but consistent profits I felt very confident...

    R. Tharp's Trading Methodology

rtharp, I am confused. On one thread you say: I'm now getting ready to publish my track record, and start managing money in a hedge fund. On this thread you say:I actually got hit with the crash, but hit more afterwards. I stopped out but breakout after breakout failed. I finally...
