    Arrrgghhhhhh

DOW .. just love you so much. :) This index futures has this week given 5 days of some real kick arse day swings/moves. Thing is I can go with days of giant moves or moves that are big enough in the day, say at least one swing of around 50/60 points. Any other DOW viewpoints?

Massive US trade deficit - Recipe For Disaster

Very short answer on this question of the trade deficit: its a mirage. The USA is the engine of the world economy .. ain't nothing bad gonna happen. Why? Because its in the interests of Japan, Germany, Britain and any other national economy that amounts to more than diddly squat.

    Quote.com .. down again!

nkhoi, thanks for your answer. So my service was out for the entire market! Thats got to be the worst ever. Usually service is restored even if its been out for hours. Its so irritating. They just don't have a conscience.

    Quote.com .. down again!

I must becoming a bore with this. Quote.com has been out for the whole market today so far. It keeps coming up with the same dumb excuse on the page saying I'm a live subscriber but it takes 45 minutes to give me a live service. If the service they are providing is down, why do they have...

    15,000 Dow

February 12 the DOW made it to around 10750 .. 3 steps of 250 points each on a postulated 20 steps from 10,000 to 15,000. Ok so current pullback is of some 500+ points .. 2 steps back so to speak. Is the pullback finished as at this morning? Where to next?

    Thank you martha stewart

"..most vocal people on these threads have no idea what they are talking about.." such as most notably yourself waggie945. Get a life! Martha was found 'guilty of conspiracy, obstruction of justice and two counts of making false statements' .. all subsidiary charges which should have been...

    Thank you martha stewart

Vengeance, the voice of the aimless masses, speaks. As the tragedy of 9/11 shows bad things happen to good people because they are caused by bad people. Get yourself the right way round Wrongway. The court threw out the insider trading charge against Martha so she is right to be appealing...

    Thank you martha stewart

vhehn Maybe you are right .. she could possibly have got away with a small fine. Sometimes these investigators want the quarry .. its a game; they want to win at any cost. Nothing to do with justice. Martha did no more than make some excuses about some piddling alleged insider trading...

    Thank you martha stewart

For 'insider' read very successful. If you make huge heaps and heaps of money sooner or later some blown-up nobody from the time-to-fuck-you-up-agency of government is going to come along and say you can't do that any more .. and maybe even try and put you in a jail cell.

    Thank you martha stewart

Well the little guy with MSO shares isn't benefiting! Same old thing since the days of the Roman circuses .. feeding scapegoats to the lions. It pleases the masses .. where there will always be those who like to blame their idiot misfortunes on someone else or something else. You need...

    Thank you martha stewart

Poor Martha has got it in the neck now. Am sorry for her. Guilty of lying (obstructing justice) in respect of a charge of insider trading which was dropped any how. Life's a bitch ain't it? Just goes to show .. never say anything at all, stay completely silent when questioned if you are a...

    Outsourcing & Jobs Report

Common misunderstanding on jobs growth .. why isn't it faster? Shouldn't be in early recovery/new boom when management still deeply in love with keeping costs cut to the bone .. good for corporate profits though. Later in the boom cycle, when employment has been rising strongly management...

    Some more strange E-mail

Its staggers me at sheer volume of sh*t e-mails and spam I receive. Does anyone else get 100+ of utter junk per day? I delete en bloc .. only keep or open e-mails where I recognize for certain the sender. Got Norton etc but just very occasionally a worm or virus can still manage to get in.

    How many trend followers here?

Each to his own. To respond to OddTrader's question "whether (intra)daytrading or multidaytrading (or else) would be more profitable/risky" .. the answer is daytrading (ie DOW) has got to be way more profitable/less risky. Or perhaps more accurately, its the cumulative results of daytrading...

    How many trend followers here?

Well, take the DOW today. Please note, approximate figures only. Day net trend, open to close +28 points. Major gyrations (points): 24 up, 44 down, 62 up. The sum of the (major) gyrations hugely hugely exceeds the net trend. Game, set and match .. yeah? Zero sum game of course!

    Quote.com down?

    How many trend followers here?

The human mind embraces simplicity .. the basis of evolution and civilization. So the sum of the major gyrations (ie DOW) is hugely hugely greater than any trend. Understand the zero sum dynamic; set out to make yourself rich and then make yourself rich. Day trading is the only time frame...
