    Huawei chips

Cannot, he's out in 3 months. Beside, bringing manufacturing back to America is pipe dream if you want to keep American cars in the 20 to 40k range. Parts are made in huge manufacturing plants in China's Northeast were labor is cheap. That's why global manufacturing moved there in the first...

China only needs to shut down auto parts manufacturing and within 2 months Euro and US manufacturing will come to a halt.

Do you keep a credit card ? Or only a debit ?

Another way of looking at it is simply to pay off your credit card every month... I use a cc for anything I don't have to use cash for, which is nearly everything. At the end of the month I get a detailed expense report and all kinds of travel points, cashbacks, travel and insurance coverage...

Do you keep a credit card ? Or only a debit ?

Even if I hate the system, it is very important to build a good/excellent credit score in the US, without which it's very difficult to obtain any kind of loans at competitive rates. A credit card is the easiest and perhaps the only way to build a credit history. As simple as that.

    Fractional trading and stock splits

Fractional trading is the latest way for brokerage firms to attract new clients. It seems to me this will suck the wind out of corporate initiated stock splits. What are your thoughts on this?

How much Space-X is (could be) worth ?

You must have a pretty extensive scientific background to be making such statement, right?

    Randomness And Trading

Actually, that's exactly how value is created or lost. Holding anything has no value until it is sold and art/classic cars/traders do buy and sell off each other (long or short) to affect value.

    Bye bye IB, hello Schwab

Great thread, thanks for the info. I'm a US citizen living abroad and find myself in the same grey area as so many others in my situation, being US citizens with no US residence. TDAmeritrade has an international section that we signed up with, but they have a limited trading window of 8 am to...

    Randomness And Trading

Actually, the appropriate question is "are markets predictable?", a question that's been asked since markets were invented and smart people since then have and continue to try to anticipate what markets will do, seconds, minutes, hours or days ahead. I think markets are manipulated in an effort...

Robin Hood Type Traders go for Court Protection to bail out their investments

It is well known to international travelers that US airlines are the worst. The planes tend to be older, dirtier, with bad food and terrible entertainment options. Worse yet are the flight attendants who over the years have gone from attractive and smiling hostesses to old and overweight with...

Robin Hood Type Traders go for Court Protection to bail out their investments

You're complaining that the rich and corporations get bailed out so why shouldn't the kids' overbetting their accounts be bailed out as well... If you disagree with the premise of bailing out corporations and the wealthy, shouldn't you also disagree with bailing out retail investors? At least...

So Who is Betting on TSLA Monday Morning?

woshoco (woulda, coulda, shoulda)...never go there, it's a total waste of energy, especially with Tesla. No one can predict a $150 drop in 30 minutes anymore than one can predict a $150 climb in 15 minutes the day prior. Best I can do is to be there to watch it happen and time my click...

Robin Hood Type Traders go for Court Protection to bail out their investments

Seeing United Airlines delisted from the Nasdaq-100 today reminds me that nearly 20 years ago, in 2003, I rushed to buy more and more UAL shares (10k worth, which was all I owned in those days) as it neared bankruptcy, thinking it would get a bail out... Instead UAL was delisted from the NYSE...

    Tesla 2020

I don't understand the logic for building the factory in Germany for several reasons. 1. Entrenched union labor. Auto unions in Germany are not only about workers protection, they're also about protecting their industry and the country. I have concerns about allegiance from the labor force...

So Who is Betting on TSLA Monday Morning?

I'm a self aware newbie in this world of gambling, I mean trading. 90% of my stock trades are Tsla, since March..2020. I don't do options, ETFs or whatever else one can do to attempt exponential wins. Too complicated for me. I usually switch from Tsla when I'm stuck high and need to wait for...
