one cannot trade with real size without encountering slippage problems. that's why over i've switched to trading the indices (e-minis, SPYdrs, QQQs) a few years back. much cleaner executions. of course it's a different game altogether.

would like to find out from the futures prop traders out there... are you still able to benefit from the 60% long term / 40% short term capital gains rule for futures contracts? trading your own money gives you this benefit, but if you trade prop, can u still keep this benefit? thanks...

caught me by surprise as well. started around 3:15PM on a Friday!!! who would have thought. was thinking it would just lay steady to the close. and to think i had my biggest position today long in the ES. i was selling way too early. left so much money on the table. argh!

gap support in the ES... plus we already had a big down day yesterday. this whole month, buyers have been very stubborn. didn't think they would just disappear as we saw in the AM. i'm flat now as the bears seem to have regained their strength. tomorrow should be another interesting day.
