Providing liquity or ACRA or NYSE

We retail types definitely keep an eye on Arca! Shows up in TWS just fine. Though we do hate those occassional 6 share takes by Arca.... but haven't personally experienced one since September.

    On Open Nasdaq market

Personally I am afraid to trade NASDAQ w/o a limit... or any ECN for that matter. This area NYSE still has the edge.

When doing an orde, whats diff between ARCA, NYSE, CyberExchange, NDSDQ, BTRD

Unless you're trying to explicitly collect ECN rebates.....

    IB Activity Statement Question

Assuming you are subject to US tax code, opening a separate account will not help. You are still subject to FIFO (across all accounts) unless you specifically identify at the time of sale which lot you are selling (in the olden days, by sending in the appropriate certificates, but nowadays by...

IB data fees and staff contradictory replies

Oh, on the "popup" -- though in no ways related to the main complaints on this thread, this thread did remind me of this issue, so I thought i'd throw it out there. Each time I start TWS, I get the pop up saying I don't have access to BASKET STK/Top. This started happening mysteriously...

    Two Accounts with IB Possible?

Different question -- Can one do DTC FOP transfers from one IB account to another? I noticed that Interactive Brokers, LLC does appear on the FOP withdrawal list. The specific reason I want to do this is to open a cash account and move ETFs & CEFs where I am expecting a larger year end...

IB: Tender offers -- when payment received

And to close the loop, it looks like I was credited after the close. One biz day after I thought. It could've been the depository -- it's plausible. Just that the extra biz day falling ove a wkend is a bit less economically pleasing from an interest perspective. Thansk for the reassurances.

which sites can i do odd lots?

I believe your real question is which brokers will do basket trades. And IB will support basket trades. The "odd lot" question is a bit touchier because NYSE has certain rules regarding odd lots -- and IB was recently sanctioned by NYSE regarding those rules. Though basket trades are...

IB Error - No new positions

Don't know about this -- but have never seen it in my (non-demo) account.

IB: Tender offers -- when payment received

The ticket ssytem came back.... and I am amazed again at the improved CS repsonse times.... apparently: "Please know that IB has not received the cash allocation from the depository for this tender. Upon allocation IB will post the funds to accounts. At this point IB does not have an ETA on...

IB: Tender offers -- when payment received

An IB specific question: Anyone know how long after a tender offer is paid before the funds show up? I thought it'd be same day but see that my tendered Accredited Home Lenders (LEND) shares have not been credited as cash yet (it was paid yesterday). I will open a ticket to ask but alas...

    IB: NYSE disciplinary action

Thanks. So it's almost the same as the 2004 action (minus the lack of tracking of orally received reportable customer complaints)! Funny thing -- I recall a thread where someone was complaining about too many restrictions on odd lots.... Seems like NYSE is saying IB is still too loose.

    IB: NYSE disciplinary action

Unlike that 2004 NYSE disciplinary action over failure to supervise abusive odd-lot trading practices and failing to track oral customer complaints.... So I am not a NYSE rules expert to know exactly when an action gets reported with full details vs. no details. Perhaps that's the other...

    IB: NYSE disciplinary action

I noticed yesterday in a Reuters article that: NEW YORK, Oct 10 (Reuters) - NYSE Regulation said on Wednesday it disciplined nine member firms and eight individuals in October for various securities violations. .... Interactive Brokers (IBKR.O: Quote, Profile, Research) was fined $250,000...

Losing Execution Priority using IB TWS

Buy long vs buy to cover should not affect priority as that's not a distinction that needs to be put into the order to the exchange. Only sell short vs sell need to be indicated as such.

Every morning at 9:24am EST, IB forcibly logs me out

Got it -- it must be the case that your IP changes too on a renew.... ISPs which reassign the same IP should not see any loss in connectivity.

Losing Execution Priority using IB TWS

I believe Island does require Side (buy/sell/sell short) on new order msgs. And on Order cancel/replace, the side must match the original order......

    IB No connect - Again

Others have suggested switching to the HK server if you trade actively around midnight NY time. Just passing along the tip (I don't trade at midnight NY time).

Every morning at 9:24am EST, IB forcibly logs me out

I don't believe DHCP lease renews should cause a logout. Maybe a momentary pinkout, but not a logout. I've moved my laptop from location to location and had TWS reconnect properly (on totally different networks, clearly with new DHCP addresses).
