    Forex Realm is a SCAM

I do use more than one "relatively" respectable ECN style brokers (I'm going to avoid names and making this into a debate over particular firms). To clarify, my point of discomfort lies around the fact that the bulk of the liquidity in the market is one step removed. It would be a major coup...

Trading Technologies awarded patent for DOM

The claims construction finding in many of the present cases appears to have really gone against TT. Namely, in the motion for reconsideration, the claims are constructed such that *ANY* non-manual recentering movement of the price ladder brings the implementation outside of the scope of the...

    Forex Realm is a SCAM

I think there're quite a few one-sided review sites out there. Then again, I have quite negative opinions of most forex retail shops bec indeed, the setup is in favor of the house. Doesn't make it right for the sites to be one-sided filters w/o disclosing that fact though. Still wish one of...

    IB Stops

What security classes are you talking about here? In most securities, this is clearly illegal and if there is true evidence of this, I believe several securities class action (e.g., Garden City) will be more than glad to help out. Maybe Cuomo would be interested in following in the...

    IB Modify Fee Question

You can programatically do it much faster than manually, across more issues, etc.

Why IB ranked so low in 2006 US futures brokers list ?

The 10Q lists customer equity at 6.9B at the end of Q1/2007 across 82k customers, so the avg. account size is ~84k equity.

    IB Modify Fee Question

Just a guess: Perhaps it is to minimize the costs imposed by someone creating his/her own order router that constantly pings the different destinations very rapidly?

    IB Stops

I don't believe any of the exchanges support native stop orders, so, probably not. To be 110% sure, verify the order types supported by the exchange(s) you're using.

Which online brokers can I do international trades inexpensively?

Just my opinion: The interest charges are well disclosed (and yea, my estimate is a cost of around $400/yr after tax on the first 10k thing -- it's a wash betw 10 & 100k compared to other brokers, and above 100k, it's only about 10bp below Vanguard's MM, which I consider the gold standard). The...

Why IB ranked so low in 2006 US futures brokers list ?

A quick look shows T bills currently yielding: 1 month: 4.98 3 months: 4.88 6 months 4.96 So yes, if you account for the state/local tax exemption, T bills do yield slightly more than the 5.051% (beyond 100k) earned on USD at IB, but not much more except maybe for NYC & Yonkers...

Which online brokers can I do international trades inexpensively?

And coincidentally, since we're talking about international transactions and FX conversion -- I think I've found a "glitch" in IDEAL pricing today (5/28 around 4:55PM EDT). Take a look at the attached screenshot for the USD/CAD pairs on IDEAL as circled. How can changing USD.CAD to CAD.USD...

Which online brokers can I do international trades inexpensively?

Well if this is becoming a wish list poll, then I'll also chime in on Finland & Norway. And how about a cheaper Tokyo data feed... :-)

Which online brokers can I do international trades inexpensively?

Maybe a more detailed explanation will help you: You need to additionally buy the currencies in which you are purchasing securities to avoid being charged interest. If you don't you end up borrowing that currency (and paying interest), but since you hold US dollars you collect interest on...

Which online brokers can I do international trades inexpensively?

You control the currency exchange yourself at IB -- I actually prefer it that way bec it allows me to time the currency exchange separately from the security purchase/sale. E.g., if I expect to buying securities in a currency in which I just sold a position, I can choose not to convert back the...

    Interactive Brokers

Don't know the site, but in general, someone (or some company) who has been falsely defamed, or whose privacy has been violated, can certainly bring an action to recover damages and for equitable relief. Of course, nothing obligates a victim to exercise his/her/its right(s). The bar for...

Interactive Brokers: STP With 1 Week Notice?

It does seem now that STP is in place, some rationalization of the rest of the processes w.r.t. security needs to be done. Like is a 2nd STP request really needed to request funds status? I'd hope this will happen shortly, though, while an inelegance, it doesn't seem like a serious sore point...

"IB NOT a TRUE real time data source!"

Probably not, unless you trade a LOT. The standard limit is 100 concurrent lines of data with more as your commissions rack up but getting to 2000 will be quite a haul. See: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accounts/fees/marketData.php

Interactive Brokers: STP With 1 Week Notice?

Time-synchronized tokens vs challenge&response systems have different trade offs. Time-synchronized: plus: smaller form factor, easier to use minus: shorter life span as battery runs down faster and subject to time drift defects (though the server "corrects" for it by observing the...
