    Don't know the OP, and I don't trade stocks, so not interested any way. But IF I did trade stocks, I don't see the harm in taking him up on the offer and collaborating to improve each others trading. If nothing else, it could fill the boredom of watching the charts during the lull periods...

    You're right; I day trade and this market is perfectly fine for my strategy/method. I was replying to a guy who also day trades. I'm not referring to any other time-frame traders.

    Off-topic; Not sure what you mean by "in this market...". What's so difficult about this market, as compared to other years? Sure, the volatility has tapered off compared to 08', but 08' is not the norm.

    Btw, just to clarify, I plan on using the analysis as part of my nightly homework for the next day. As a discretionary trader, I'm not concerned with real-time data analysis in any database.

    And what does that buy you? How does that affect the final outcome? Your results won't change by using a hybrid solution. Use the tools that get the job done. I see this in the IT field all the time - using certain technology or technologies just for the hell of it.

    Yep...that's the point of using star schemas - to avoid the need for too many joins. I've been in data architecture and data warehousing for several years, but haven't applied that knowledge to market data. I'm going to look into it though.

    For analysis, you might wanna check out SQL Server Analysis Services, or a database solution made for analysis/olap
