Even less volume; narrower ranges... Actually, I think the market isn't all that bad right now. And you mentioned you trade NYSE listed and it's tough going against the specialist. Is anyone forcing you to trade NYSE listed? Give Nasdaq a try. -FastTrader :)

If the offer was at 996.50, according to your previous post, your bid would be 996.75 or 997.00 to be "above" the offer. -FastTrader

I think you still got it wrong. If the offer is at 996.00, then you would place your buy limit at 996.25 or 996.50. 1-2 ticks ABOVE the offer so you can get filled. Maybe I should trade futures :p -FastTrader :D

panther, like I said, I don't know which stocks I'll be trading til a couple of minutes into the open. Entry points on each stock are different, so I don't think the basket would work. If you still think, Basket order is the way to go, please let me know how this would work in my situation...

Hmm, I would just use the 5min for the main entry/exit signal, and then look over at the 1min to fine-tune the entry. For example, if you get a signal to go Long on the 5min, use the 1min. for entry, then just watch the cycles of the 1min. Is the 1min. cycling up? That's all I would look for...

Funky, why not look at the 5 min. and 1 min. at the same time? I use the 10, 5, and 1 min. while trading. -FastTrader :cool:

Btw, I think taking positions in multiple stocks is a better way to go. That way, even if you get stopped out on half your trades, the other half can still make you some $. I only play the open, and it's a bit difficult to enter too many positions. Still working on that. I'd like to be in 5-8...
