    I think the S&P e-mini might be too expensive to trade...by that I mean if he uses a 4 pt stop-loss, that's $200 (10% of his acct). I would start with something that has a smaller tick size like the YM ($5 per point), so even a 10 pt trailing stop is only $50 risk. -FastTrader

    If you're trading stocks, I think it will be very difficult. You can do it with futures though since you have more leverage. -FastTrader

    I think you have to look at the bigger picture and the trends become very clear. I use the 10/5/1 min. charts to trade. I enter on the 1 min. in the direction of the 5 & 10 min. -FastTrader

    Can ES be traded from SPY chart?

    Btw, here are the trades I took on ES: Short ES @ 989.00 Cover ES @ 982.00 This was in the morning. I had to leave for work at that time. Made another trade over lunch. Shorted ES at 979.00 and covered at 977.00. Both trades were based off of 1/5/10' SPY charts. eSignal should be up...

    Price is not the problem...as I mentioned in my original post, I'm ordering eSignal and will use it to chart the e-mini futures. I get quotes through IB TWS. This morning, I was getting my buy/sell signals from my SPY chart and jotting down my paper-trades based on the quotes displayed in TWS...

    My current charting pkg does not chart futures. I'll be ordering eSignal in a day or so. Today, I just paper-traded the ES off the SPY chart. Made over 10 pts in the morning. Was this just a fluke since it was a down-trend day and I was shorting the ES? -FastTrader :cool:

    For me, 3 is a requirement. That's what I trade with now (three 19" LCDs). I think a 4th one would be nice since I do have some additional information that I'd like to keep an eye on, but not a requirement so holding off on 4th screen. I feel I need the 3 screens and each one is used constantly...
