    OK, I give in...

Pure curiosity question - where did everyone infer the $160 from the OP's original post? I'm not a futures guy so I don't really understand how to decode the TST/$100,000/10 contracts ES jargon.

How do I start a business managing people's money?

In my opinion, this guaranteed interest rate concept is a recipe for blow-up. In that case, you're really just increasing leverage *substantially*, especially if you take the "capital" you raise thru this loan and lever it up with your broker via margin. Let's say you have 100K of personal...

How do I start a business managing people's money?

In reference to a comment earlier in the thread about the challenges of IB's FFA structure, where you trade all accounts in lock-step and can end up with "stub" positions (2 shares long in one account, 2 shares short in another, flat in the third) if the IB machine screws up the allocation...

    Tradelink users? Issues?

No different than 3 weeks ago, I suspect. How do you mean?

Question on Reading Currency Forward Rates

And a different quote source I found (below) shows values that are about an order of magnitude less (multiplier of 100?) but not exactly an order of magnitude less. Do different sources quote with different conventions? http://www.forexpros.com/currencies/usd-inr-forward-rates

Question on Reading Currency Forward Rates

I am in need of some (simple) help on reading currency forwards on the USD/INR pair. The below table has 1M, 2M etc... forward rates on the pair, and I'm guessing, based on the magnitude of the values in the bids & asks, that there's a 1000 multiplier on this contract but can't find that info...

    Tradelink users? Issues?

Doubtful anything has changed. My biggest annoyance with OQ was the non-response to straightforward questions on the forum, especially bugs etc... I really wish Ninja had a more capable framework. Support on their forums is really fantastic, just can't make some core limitations go away...

    Tradelink users? Issues?

For completeness, also check out OpenQuant (smartquant). I put them in the same camp as RightEdge (very similar actually) but slightly better in several ways, slightly worse in a few. Bottom line, their weaknesses are, like rightedge, dealbreakers for me but an option worthy of consideration.

    Tradelink users? Issues?

Interesting thread. I tried to use RightEdge about 12 months back and ended up being dissatisfied with (a) the architecture for multi-symbol testing/trading (very clumsy to refer to symbolB when making a trading decision on symbolA, difficult to make decisions based on current portfolio...

Anyone have any performance data on IB's Arrival Price

Got it. I've long been interested in tracking the same for myself but it's not as straightforward as you'd like it to be. I'm frankly surprised that there's not a small lightweight piece of client software that could "listen" for trade messages and record the current bid/ask/mid condition...

Anyone have any performance data on IB's Arrival Price

Have you looked at their website? Maybe here http://individuals.interactivebrokers.com/en/p.php?f=smartRouting

New Trader in need of Automated Trading Software

I looked at ADL and it seemed nice (and not cheap) but TT is only for futures I believe, so don't bother if looking for equities

IB's order handling when limited shares available to short

Not sure the OP has implemented the API in this case. I think a request for a "check box" suggests it's a TWS manual trade entry. I know that my case was specific to the TWS manually entered trades

IB's order handling when limited shares available to short

I don't have an answer to your question, but a similarly annoying feature of hard to borrows on IB - I actually didn't realize the behavior you're describing. When I place an order for a stock with limited shares available, if placed on one account, it will go into "searching for shares"...

What are the most professional automated trading platforms ?

Can you say more about what this means to users? I've been a user of OpenQuant off and on, have generally been frustrated by the limitations imposed on it (including not being able to call the OQ framework from external DLLs) and have generally gotten the sense that the full power of the...

    IB's Yield Enhancement Program

Yes, apparently PM accounts are eligible. I have gotten paid small amounts while being a PM account, and the rep that looked into my particulars explained how the 140% rule worked in my case. Definitely wasn't a "none" conclusion, just what I mentioned above

    IB's Yield Enhancement Program

I don't think that's quite right, but maybe IB-AN can confirm. If you had a $10K account, long 10K and short 10K, your cash balance would say 10K, but when you back out the $10K cash generated from proceeds of the shorts, your cash balance would be 0. They could hypothecate 1.4x of 0, so you'd...

    IB's Yield Enhancement Program

I'm still struggling to get any benefit from this (like 0.001% of account value thus far) but to be fair I learned that it has to do with my margin position and long/short portfolio. IB-AN, who monitors and posts here frequently, was very helpful in explaining this to me via PM...

New Trader in need of Automated Trading Software

And for really good backtesting with more of a GUI and integrated IDE, try WealthLab (now offered by Fidelity for US residents). C# based, though you'll primarily end up using the built in IDE. Lots of pre-built money management choices, and you can build plug-ins that do just about...

New Trader in need of Automated Trading Software

Take a look at TradeLink (www.tradelink.org). It's an open source project in C# that very much depends on your using Visual Studio and having a good working knowledge of .NET. I'm just getting familiar with it, but seems like a well designed framework and libraries, not a lot of GUI bells...
