what happens when you buy a put and the company goes out of business?

When you buy puts and the company goes out of business (Practically stock goes to zero), your put will be worth slightly less than it's strike price. So in the case of NKLA, 2.5 puts will be worth $250 each (theoretically). Practically, you will need to factor the bid/ask spread of the options.

Can Market Makers (bots) see your stop in ES/MES?

Throw out everything in books or in so called "Conventional Wisdom" in trading out of the window. You can do whatever you want (Average down, Average up, double down, etc...) as long as you will still be breathing, alive & well after you realize you are wrong.

Can Market Makers (bots) see your stop in ES/MES?

Very common to have such shakeouts, especially in the first 1-1.5 hours of the regular trading session. 90% of the time clusters of stops will be below/above round figures and/or previous bottoms/peaks. In your case, it was actually both (3,200 as a round) as well as below the overnight session...

SPI up from $3.30 to $25???

Very Interesting to see a 5M float (15M O/S) stock trade 300M shares a day!!!

So Cofounder of chewy, gamestop investor thinks he can rival amazon. Nice way to prop up the stock

Those who talk, don't execute and those who execute don't talk. Look at the large successful tech companies (Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Oracle, Apple, etc...), they don't talk BS, they execute first, then they launch & talk. These guys try to avoid talking about future plans...

Why is 'market profile' only used for futures?

This is the most accurate post in this thread. And I don't think there is one anyway. In order to build profiles (The standard bell shape activity throughout the trading session) without fixed time or volume segmentation would be like asking for a software which predicts future activity of the...

Get theoretical price of options at fixed delta

Yes, you can get this, not sure about feed providers for this, but probably your best shot to get this is through either Bloomberg or Refinitiv (Both will be expensive, either on terminal or as feed). You can calculate it though, you need Bid/Ask IV real-time data (For the range of strikes...

    x time Leveraged Option

Yes, absolutely. Suppose an option with a 500 shares of the underlying trading at $400 (20% discount from $500) while the same 100 shares option is trading at $100 each (All other things being equal). If the liquidity in both is good enough, anyone would simply buy 1x$400 option and short...

    x time Leveraged Option

I don't think this is practically possible. 2 identical instruments can't be priced differently unless there is a liquidity advantage of one vs. the other. If both are identical, they should be priced the same or very close to eliminate any potential arbitrage. I remember back in the old days...

Realtime Data feed for Implied volatility

You are better off calculating what you need instead of buying it, it will be easier, cheaper and more suited to your needs. Just my opinion.

IB: "...terminate our relationship with you..."

@ChipShotTrader I am also interested to know such details if possible.

    x time Leveraged Option

The leverage you get in options is based on how many units/shares the option controls of the underlying instrument (Typically 100 shares for equity options) and the price you pay for the option itself. In order to increase your leverage, you need to find an option with a higher multiplier or...

IB: "...terminate our relationship with you..."

No, I am not a US citizen. I read about the fine, but I also read that the manipulative activities conducted were mainly from a New York trader, which means that probably US citizens were involved in such case. It's true that the fine was for several charges, one of them was anti-money laundry...

IB: "...terminate our relationship with you..."

Why would this be required by the US government? And why the only broker out there asking it's clients about this is IB and no other broker is asking for it (If it's a US government request?) For the case of a US-citizen, why the US government is asking IB to get the SOW of it's clients, why...

IB: "...terminate our relationship with you..."

Yes, I did get that from them as well. I submitted documents, but then they contacted me again requesting more documents (Which I am yet to see what exactly are those). They are asking me the source of my funds after 14 years of opening & funding my account with them!!! (Given that I haven't...

Question about my 65% win rate and 1-1.5 RR ratio

Are your stats based on backtest results or forward test results? If your stats are correct, you have an excellent expectancy of +0.625. Don't try to improve it. Just use Kelly for your position sizing. For an account with a $10k, you should optimally be risking approximately $4,166. You do...

Moderna top execs dumped nearly $30 million of stock after releasing vaccine result

In reality, the executives & directors (regardless of the 10b5-1 plans) not only posses, but also influence the disclosure of material inside information. Moreover, they know of details about the potential length of every process within their company or with their regulators, which are almost...

What is the best tool(s) to analyze data progammatically?

I guess C++ would be too complicated & time consuming for me to do the job. I plan to write/code the conditions myself (or with the help of a friend who runs a development company), run them and gather the results. Certain conditions/patterns are almost identical but with tiny differences.

What is the best tool(s) to analyze data progammatically?

I guess that's probably the library I would be needing, depending on what statistical tools that would be available with it out of the box.

What is the best tool(s) to analyze data progammatically?

Thanks a lot. I am looking to do statistical and pattern analysis, hundreds of combinations, any idea on a library for Python which can help on that for time series data? PS: It's nothing to do with technical analysis.
