    Cool-Trade success???

If you search for "cooltrade" in the upper-right corner of this screen, and look at the authors name on the right, you can read all of the comments from others, like: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1091364&highlight=cooltrade#post1091364 Look at a few of the...

Who wants to work on some strategies?

I think wer'e all in the same boat when it comes to the stock market. i.e. trying to help each other to make money in the markets. Sometimes I come off like an expert, but the fact is, I learn a lot from the CoolTrade members who come to the office for free training on the software, and from...

    Cool-Trade success???

If you search the board for "cooltrade" you will probably find comments and detailed discussions from actual CoolTrade users. Other than myself "the founder", there are no posts from CoolTrade employees. I think the problem you are having is that the CoolTrade members love the software so...

Who wants to work on some strategies?

Simen, The Captain is right. Your best method for finding trading/Strategy partners is to join a group where everyone is using the same trading software and the sharing of strategies is encouraged and/or alteast supported. I can't speak for the other trading platforms (though my guess is...

NinjaTrader vs OpenQuant for automated trading

CoolTrade handles all of that and is fully automated. It automatically adjusts all target prices as the stock prices move around. If the net goes away, the software just waits for it to come back and readjusts everything when the data starts flowing again.

Any reasonable automated programs for trading stocks?

CoolTrade is strictly stocks. Fully point-and-click. No scripting or programming language. It's also fully automated. i.e. set your strategy, turn it on, and walk out of the house. Monthly subscription is free if you have a TD AMERITRADE account. Otherwise $49.99/mo (month-to-month)...

    IB API Programmers

The Bid and Ask prices are one of the most important indicators or data points used in daytrading. Your system has to be able to interrogate the Level II screen. Since a market order buys on the Ask and sells on the Bid, if you buy a stock with a .50 spread (ask - bid), you are already down...

    Fully redundant automation?

Missac, I can't knock TS. They've been around a long time and if you can program with their programming language, you may get a lot out of it. CoolTrade on the other hand was designed to be a fully automated point-and-click system, from the ground up. So, right out of the box, complete...

    Fully redundant automation?

All of that redundancy totally wasted if you are sitting in traffic or a movie theatre and you get some email alert. What happens when you get the alert? You have to try and figure out what trade to make? yuk! I let my CoolTrade automated traders do EVERYTHING 100% unattended. Good...

    IB API Programmers

The CoolTrade system is fully automated / robotic, and trades your IB/TWS account It's all point-and-click, so NO programming or scripting language to learn. Jones, save yourself a furtune and years of development time. Ed

    Fully redundant automation?

Missac, you've already done so much to ensure better 'uptime', that you should just go with what you have, as you may have more than the ISP themselves have. I've seen power outtages at ISP's that have brought down whole server racks. Rather than opting for co-location, it might be better...

Anything similiar to Ninja Trader's Strategy Wizard?

CoolTrade is all point-and-click with no script or programming. Is also free if you have a TD AMERITRADE account. http://www.cool-trade.com

    Fully redundant automation?

There are always going to be so called "points of failure", things that you cannot control. For instance, even though you may have a power supply in case of a power outage, your ISP could lose power. Even the Exchanges in NY have power and data outages. I've been running 100% fully...

Paper trading back to normal and 1800 in 30 min !

Right, filled = 100%. You should always match the event-id with the id of orders that you have sent. IB works in mysterius ways! Best and possibly the only solution is to just ignore the duplicates. Ed

Paper trading back to normal and 1800 in 30 min !

It's probably because the order was not filled in one event. For instance, if you bought 1000 shares, it may have been purchased in 3 chunks (250, 550, 200). If you're building an automated trader, you have to add all of that up so you know the complete order got filled. Ed

Paper trading back to normal and 1800 in 30 min !

Tommaso, you're far from being out of the woods. Every problem you have with the IB paper trading account will still be there when you go live, AND SOME! Also, when your orders/fills hit the real market, you will affect the market and if you float limit orders and stop losses guaranteed you...
