Crude at $65 will signal market callapse

The world is a funny place, it always surprises. Here's a lesson in risk management, no matter how sure you are of something, no matter how much sense your view makes, YOU can easily be wrong.

    If this rally fails...

Increased demand has pushed commodities prices higher; what is interesting is the role speculative demand has played. Which ever way you look at it, increased resources costs will lead to higher prices. You don't need a textbook to get that. Treasuries are much lower why? Might they be...

    Best stocks to be short

The market is pretty cool; take for example how you can look at a stock and say, "boy it would be nearly impossible for this thing to fall further" and then before you know it, new lows. Maybe the market will rally soon (and the companies covered in blood with it), or maybe it's going to fall...

It has finally clicked.....as a trader

Try to remember how this feels because it will get you through the tough times. Trading will not always be this easy, infact I recommend you scale up while you're on a streak and have a plan to cut down if you feel yourself getting into a tough patch. Good luck buddy.

Fears of a commodity crash grow

Why don't they just deliver against the over-priced futures contracts? I must be missing something.

Intraday money mgmt question - what would you do??

I'd say push your luck - if things are going your way don't shrink back, up your size. Likewise when things are tough it's best to step back; you're not only trading the market here.

    How to define a trend 100 % objectively ?

Here's a really strict definition - the price over X(time) is </> = uptrend/downtrend. The amount of time is discretionary. The Gold price is higher today than it was a year ago, ergo an uptrend. The thing is trends can be weak or strong and that's where things get more complicated.

Zimbabwe went broke seizing land, Venezuela is about to go broke seizing platforms?

So according to you all whites in (South) Africa are greedy and they deserve to have everything they have redistributed? Two wrongs do make a right then? Unlike most (all?) the posters on this thread I actually live in South Africa, and while things are not perfect and the gap between rich...

Setting up for a monster short

Here's an idea - short just before the FOMC and cover at the close.

    Aggressive Systems Trading Drawdowns

It's fine to be confident about what can handle but you're really shooting yourself in the foot when you endure 20-50% drawdowns which, with a 50% win rate risking 5%, will guarantee this being a regular occurrence. This is because of that nasty thing called asymmetrical leverage.

    Bernanke HUMILIATED by RON PAUL

The theory says that a continously higher inflation rate in one country vs another country will lead to the first country's currency becoming depreciated in the long run (decades), empirically PPP doesn't hold in the short run (2-3 years). That is, above average-inflation in the long term...

    I'm no expert but...

The SnP looks like it's in make or break territory. Basic TA shows a h&s setup and now we're testing the neckline. Below 1470 and it's goodbye bull market. If we hold (which futures are pointing to) we could easily make it to 1600. I don't really trade of TA but it caught my attention.

Anyone think if we sell off hard today 11-7-07

Well my list of worries is longer than yours :D ; sky high oil, commodities not looking back ie. inflation, sub-prime and credit worries, poor ecoomic data, poor earnings. Talk about a wall of worry. Thanks for the props Makloda.

Anyone think if we sell off hard today 11-7-07

*Ahhh it seems so lucrative to join the bear camp. They seem so logical and prudent and definitely smarter than the bulls. On one side we have Pabst (who many respect) and the other we have Stock_Trd3r (who almost no-one respects). * I'm heavily long but I wish I was bearish so I could give...

    Ron Paul on Jay Leno's

I'm not American but I think this Ron Paul guy is living in Lala-land. Zero tax? Asset backed dollars? Zero US military presence overseas? Good luck with that; he says he studied Austrian economics I wonder if he studied emperical testing of Austrian economics. Letting the market take care...
