    If the US goes into a recession, wouldn't that reduce oil prices? America is still the biggest oil consumer, industry slow down = less oil demand and more surplus, which would plumet the price, no?

    Why not? I've traded since 1994 and rarely have a negative month. I have a set of risk management rules that I rely on, the entry is almost purely intuition. Technical studies to me is just a way of reinforcing your beliefs about the markets that your trading.

    if you are truely worried, than use a broker like global since they use clearing first like GHCO/RCG more secure than an average account. If you got the cash, and are truely paranoid, trade through a private bank like Citi or JP Morgan, they'll setup all ur stuff, insure it, and setup tax shelters.

    I seriously do not see the point of a bunch of indicators. The only thing I use is a simple moving average and draw a few trend lines, the rest is intuition + a well defined set of money/risk management rules. I've been able to make a fine living trading options for the past 4 years.

    Houses in sask went up a bit over the past few years, bought a 1900sqft house in 2003 for 170g's it's worth about 350g's now. If I sold it and get a place in georgia or something it MIGHT be ok, but I would be emptying out my trading capital if I paid cash, from few hundred g's.... tooo...

    I honestly don't think bandwidth is the issue, 1.5 is fast enough to download any website almost instantly, if it's slow I would suspect either ur connection is unstable(laggy) or ur web browser cache is too full

    I momentum/swing trade, usually hold for a few hours to a few days. roughly $0.7 per dollar risked.
