SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

Why don't you simply call the SEC or FINRA. It's free and they won't laugh. And it happens to be in their area.

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

It doesn't mean that they are out to steal your money. But who knows if your money is really there??? People at Tuco were getting paid out on a monthly basis with no issues. They are not regulated like an SEC registered BD is that has to file FOCUS reports on a daily basis to the SEC. All...

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

That's not a loophole....thats a legitimate reason to have the Master/Sub relationship. The SEC is not stupid. If it looks like a duck quacks like a duck, then the SEC is going to say its a duck...no matter what they claim they are. Furthermore, the clearing firms are going to shut these...

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

This notice specifically excludes registered firms: "Similarly, in omnibus clearing arrangements, a broker-dealer that is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) pursuant to the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (referred to as a “registered IBD”) may procure clearing...

SEC/FINRA Officially Issues Warning on Unregistered Broker Dealers

This says it all. So much for firms like Cy Group, Paramount and Epiphany. This says if you have a Master Account and Sub-Accounts you need to treat the sub-accounts like individual customer accounts (and follow $25k PDT and 4-1). Unless of course you are a Registered Broker Dealer. I...

"Locked up for a minimum of 12 months per sec rule"

It is an SEC rule...you can call them instead of calling people names....people really respect that! When i called the SEC this is what they told me....I want to preface this by saying that I didn't fully understand all the SEC codes and regulations so if I butcher this I apologize...

Dude, lighten up. They are one of the few firms that are allowed to "spam" since they are PAID sponsors here. However, reading 1000's of posts while researching prop firms I have NEVER seen them abuse this privilege. Not even once.

"Locked up for a minimum of 12 months per sec rule"

Yes, there is a 12 month lock up. My understanding is that it is in fact an SEC rule. They are very up front about it and told me on the phone during my initial call. I have been very happy with JC. Keep in mind that it is only on the $7,500, not profits. If the 12 month lock up is an...

Keystone Trading - SCAM or not?

Before joining any firm that is not an SEC registered Broker Dealer, please call the Office of Interpretation and Guidance of the SEC at (202) 551-5777. Tell them this: I want to join this firm and trade stocks. They say they don't need to be registered. The name of the firm is (fill in the...

Brendan, I'm glad you agreed to be professional, however, it took you two days to break that agreement as you called me "a very lonely person, with limited talent". Why are you taking my posts so personal and insulting me with name calling? I just asked some honest questions concerning...

Yes, there are definitely government agencies such as the SEC or FINRA that can be contacted. I don't know if they are lying about all the claims they are making....I'm just asking for proof! The lie I was referring to was in the statement where they said "WE NO LONGER ACCEPT DEPOSITS"...

It is not too much to ask for. I can create a gmail account in 1 minute and buy a Sype number for $3. What does any of that prove? There is a difference between putting up a website for a customer to fill out contact info and this. Epiphany introduced themselves to the Elitetrader...

Wrong. T3 is set up as a true Hedge Fund. They actually spent the money to have it set up properly. They didn't choose to have a "hedge fund like" structure. Also, just because your deposit is held in an escrow account does not mean you are operating an unregistered broker dealer.

Warning to anyone trading through an LLC

Those firms are registered with the SEC. But they chose to be regulated by the CBOE, not FINRA. They are referred to as "non-FINRA BD's" and are perfectly legal as long as they don't interact or solicit with the public.

All I asked for was for proof of statements that he made on a public forum, as well as an explanation for an inconsistency in his statement on a major issue. Is that too much to ask for?

I do not operate under an alias, my name is Potential Customer. You have burst on to the scene claiming how well capitalized you are in NUMEROUS posts, BUT YOU CAN'T BACK IT UP. I asked Don Bright for their financials a few months back and he emailed me them 5 minutes later! You have said...
