Son of If You Can Draw a Straight Line . . .

That's good to hear. I haven't quite reached that age yet when my peer group start dying off in numbers. But I've seen it, I imagine it's quite sobering when it starts happening. Was Tampa a user on here, I have no idea if anyone on these boards ever meet each other or become friends? Good...

Son of If You Can Draw a Straight Line . . .

Thank you DB. Sorry to labour the point, hope this is not coming across as really dumb but I'm still a little confused. Why determine the trend of the daily's for intraday trading ? I thought the three steps were a logical progression ?

You've mentioned not being here before. I hope you are well DB. Or are you talking about retiring from your altruistic pursuits on Trading Boards ?

Thanks DB, Just to clarify. Positioning ones self in the trend only applies to Daily's and weekly. Intraday we can take a whatever opportunities present themselves - short or long (at the extremes) because we have no idea who will prevail at these areas until they show themselves. ?

I have another question for DB. In the three step process above.Your second entry is a short and in to potential support too. Am I missing something, the daily's are up and on the second chart you are looking at a bounce of the previous midpoint. Going back to step one, wouldn't we be...

That's great, thank you Gringo. I like to clarify things before I go off half baked. This is slowly sinking in. The psychology part of fear in the charts is fascinating. I have actually felt this fear at the extremes myself.

DB, I have a question for you. I've been trying to get my head around this whole midpoint business and understand exactly what it means and why. The midpoint has been quoted as a "value area" or as you put it "home". But I still struggle with the why. I've been reading the Mark Douglas...

Thanks Niko, Yes I did, thats where I chopped all the chapters from to make the Wyckoff "lite" booklet. I thought it would be beneficial to get an overview before delving in the the 400 page monster. I'm reading other books too, namely Mark Douglas The Disciplined Trader, very interesting...

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

Thanks for this Forty, I've been following your posts with interest. Would you mind outlining a bit more of how you went about your study? Did you have any specific objectives in mind while observing price movements? What sort of things did you note in your journal. Hope you don't mind me...

I've put together a pdf with all the sections from the Wyckoff course that Db outlined over at TL - Wyckoff Lite. Unfortunately its just bigger than 1mb so I cant upload it here, and it wont compress below 1mb either. If anyone would like a copy for their study, pm me with your email...

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

My notes the FTSE this morning. This is from my personal journal. I'm going to continue this process until I feel I'm being as objective as I can and maybe being more sensitive to what buyers and sellers are trying to achieve. I've already noticed a tendency to have a bias. For example...

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

NQ has followed the FTSE today and gapped up out of the previous range. Shot straight up and halted. Most of the interest for the past 12 hours seems to centered around the 210 mark. Will this be significant in today's action? Will 90 be tested today or in the coming days? As for ranges...

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

Observations from the first 2 hours of the FTSE this morning. First 2 Hours Context Overnight the FTSE gapped up out of the previous range between 6560 and 6000. Buyers then rapidly pushed price up, but were met with resistance at 6660 from all the way back to July. Buyers failed to...

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

I think very few people grasp what Db is really getting at. And the few that do, realize just how much effort is involved to do the "work" and give up. From my own experiences in life, most people are mentally lazy. That is a big first hurdle to overcome.

For what it's worth, here is the live commentary I made to myself for the first 90 minutes of NQ today If anyone has any observations I'd welcome them. I'm trying to couch what I see in the correct manner. Thanks 14:30 At the open sellers immediately push the price down, 14:34...
