Toby Crabels " Day Trading with Short Term Price Patterns and ORB"

Actually, I've never traded any of Crabel's methods. They seem to work in some markets some of the time. All I need now is an indicator telling me when and where. :p Schindler Trading uses behavioral finance/sentiment indicators and intermarket analysis. I think the simple price-based...

Toby Crabels " Day Trading with Short Term Price Patterns and ORB"

I've made a better percentage return on the purchase of the Crabel book than in trading any of the strategies in the book. Although at this point it is all just paper profit (excuse the pun) because I haven't closed out my position. I'm still long a Crabel. :) If it was Toby Crabel's goal...

    FFASTFILL Lower than IB??

I've never seen it done anywhere other than IB either. I and some other people complained loudly to IB last April (even before I got audited), so maybe they'll fix it for this year.

    FFASTFILL Lower than IB??

I recently switched from IB to FfastFill and am glad I did. Customer service is much better than IB and me and the Schindler Fund investors are saving a bundle in commissions. The online system is good, but not quite as mature as TWS. There are a couple drawbacks with Ffastfill versus IB...

    Trader Status and Taxes

Nope. Ordinary income cannot be offset with capital losses. And it isn't "trader status" that makes your profits ordinary income, it is electing mark to market. I suggest you get a copy of Ted Tesser's book or read the Green Company articles from Active Trader Magazine. Trader status...

    2002 is about over

Schindler Trading is up 47.0% through October (net of fees) with a 17.3% drawdown in March. November results will be out next week -- PM me with your email address if you want the update. We trade the NQ's, Dax, and T-note and use a short term inter-market system.

1000 QQQ SSF trading is better than NQ.

Do they both have the same typical bid/asked spread? Is the tax treatment of profits the same for both?

    Limited Partnership vs. LLC

You need a separate EIN for each business entity (partnership, LLC, corporation, etc.) A single entity with a single EIN can be in multiple businesses.

    Limited Partnership vs. LLC

A solution for the unlimited liability of the General Partner (GP), is for the GP to be an LLC. Then the "fund" and the "management company" and the hedge fund manager are all distinct entities. This sounds convoluted but is common -- why not just have the fund be an LLC? I don't know.

Best wishes on your cat's recovery, tampa. Six months ago I lost my faithful trading companion -- a retired racing Greyhound. I was very sad.

    Limited Partnership vs. LLC

You'll first have to get a Certificate of Limited Partnership from the state. (The Secretary of State, as Walther said.) Using that you can get a Federal Employer Identification Number from the IRS. Even though you won't have any US employees you still need this number -- it is your...

News affecting European & Asian Futures

And you're going to sleep when? :) Even though you aren't trading any US indices, keep an eye on the US economic releases. They can have a big effect on the European indices in the afternoon. (Afternoon in Europe, that is.) The three European indices you are going to trade are pretty...

    Limited Partnership vs. LLC

Are you starting a hedge fund, ChrisM? As I recall, now that most states allow single person LLC's there is little practical difference between LLCs and LPs. Both are pass-through entities for tax purposes. Both are limited liability for passive investors.

    Is it trading or gambling?

I'd say... A gambler takes on risk for the fun of it. It may be profitable but often they'll play a negative expectation game because the fun they have is more valuable than the expected losses. A trader takes on risk with an expectation of profit. It may be fun but that's not the...

    WWJD--what would jesus drive ?? a poll

Timely thread... My pastor actually answered this question in this past Sunday's sermon. He said Jesus was from a rural area and worked as a carpenter. He thought Jesus would probably drive a pickup or cargo van. He got on the topic because there is a group of Christians saying it is wrong...
