    Time of day to trade.

There is no need to write an options system. What you're saying is the electronic market in options is less efficient at one time of day over another. Do you really believe that the quote systems which operate in milliseconds these days are lazy at certain times of day? One "system" which...

    Time of day to trade.

There is no inherent edge in option pricing based on time of day. Your perception that the underlying offers you some sort of edge based on the time of day is an entirely different notion to that of there being any edge to options pricing based on time of day. If there was any real edge in...

There is more edge in my hobby business of buying and selling Porsches then there is in options these days. Oh and one more thing... "sell everything, vols are never going up again!" LOL

In which strategy, You buy a stock, sell a call and buy a put of the same strike?

There are some tax reasons a retail trader would want to do the reversal or conversion but the days of a retail trader being able to arb the stock synthetically are long long gone.

My option trades for the past 6 months, feel free to ridicule, or offer guidance

What natural edge is there in selling? Unless the option is mispriced then the premium you recieved in return for the risk is fair value and thus no edge.

My option trades for the past 6 months, feel free to ridicule, or offer guidance

I am viewing it from an inherent point of view. There is no edge whether you're a buyer or a seller of options. Unless somehow the options are priced incorrectly there is NO edge whatsoever on either side, thus symbol, strike, and time also offer no edge.

My option trades for the past 6 months, feel free to ridicule, or offer guidance

I think the issue here is your perception of what edge is. On statistical basis there is no inherent edge in being a buyer or a writer of options, nor is there any in stock selection. Market timing, and direction have no edge whatsoever.

My option trades for the past 6 months, feel free to ridicule, or offer guidance

There is no edge in stock selection. In fact there is no edge in trying to time the market in either direction, or in being a buyer or writer of options.

Your most successful Long options trade

Its not so much as "traders" dont "play" long options its more that traders who really use options dont just buy a put or call and hang out waiting for the undelrying to move. Historically we all know thats a poor strategy. Retail investors my do that quite a bit but if you're talking about...

Whether an options writer or buyer has better edge? Why?

Dackster what makes you believe everyone else here is a buyer of options? I never mentioned my trading style, I just pointed out the FACT that there is no inherent edge in being a buyer or a seller. No one here is going to be the richest man in the world nor would the richest man in the...

Whether an options writer or buyer has better edge? Why?

There are basically 6 variables in the price of an option. 5 of the six can move will always be changing and they can move such that the buyer or writer of an option would profit. Direction of the underlying is just one of the variables and its not always the one you have to trade. But again...

Whether an options writer or buyer has better edge? Why?

The question is about inherent "edge" in being a buyer or a writer. That question has nothing at all to do with psychology. Your perception of others psychology in the market place has no effect on whether one side or the other has “edge”
