    Forecast for 25th & 26th Aug'03

It is still trading in a rectangle. It has not broken to the upside or to the downside yet. If it breaks out to the downside then yes I will be wrong and I will gladly admit it like a man. As far as my forecast for an up-day - I believe it was for the next day 8/14 - it was an up-day.

I still think that his charts are good except they keep getting posted upside down. abhay you may want to talk to the moderators about this. It's possible that there is a bug in the "attach" function of the forum software that inverts your charts. Moderators: can you look into this pronto?

abhay: I don't mean to be a smart-alec, but your charts seem to point directly opposite the market. Is it possible that you have inadvertently posted the charts upside down?

    miss trading

Yesterday, at the Professional Trading Tour meeting Bob Bright said that stock volatility has returned to what it was in the 80's. Back then of course, there were no decimals. IMHO, the connection between fractions and volatility is like saying that if my car were painted red it would drive...

    The Truth about Daytrading Futures..

The thing is: of the .1% who as you say profitably make a living trading the emini – no one discusses what they really use to make money. So, you have the .1% and the 99.9%, for a total of 100% discussing unproven or unprofitable methods. Bottom line – no one should expect a free lunch here.

    bond futures

Its my understanding that because the Emini is faster than the pit, most trades are initiated in the emini and then dumped/reversed in the pit. This would mean that the emini is not only creating its own volume, but is creating volume that is keeping the pit alive. The emini has also taken...

If you are going to close early, make sure you alert the SEC so they can prepare for the sudden drop in volume. :D

    markets never GAP open anymore

Looking on the brighter side - maybe its safer to hold positions overnight.

    What will tommorrow bring?

Probably an up day. S&P500 just bounced off its weekly moving average and support. Trading in a rectangle. It will probably break through to the upside to new yearly highs up to 1050ish. Then trade sideways between the 200 day moving average and 1050 for a while.

    Bond Futures

The bond vigilantes enforced the notion that smaller deficits meant lower interest rates. So if some politician did something that would increase the deficit - bonds would sell off raising interest rates and scaring the politicians. However, bond vigilantes may be passe in an era of...

    Bond Futures

As far as illiquid, I meant the currencies like EC or CD on a 5 minute or under chart. _____________________ Zhivodka is right about them not trading like stocks. I think the key might be some kind of MACD or moving average cross or trendline break and then a trailing stop loss that...

    Bond Futures

It seems like bonds and currencies are geared more toward position traders entering off of daily or weekly signals and trailing a moving average stop loss. 1-3 day swings doen't seem as consistent as with equity indexes and the markets seem too choppy or illiquid for daytrading or scalping...

Trade only stocks you can win

I only buy the index when it goes up and I only short the index when it goes down. If it doesn't go up after I buy or down after I short it - then I climb in a worm-hole, go back in time and undo the trade before I enter it. It simple really.

    new qcharts policy

I do think a lot of the problems Qcharts has had are related to freeloaders over taxing the system. They have a nice product, but reliability has been their serious Achilles heel.

CME SP futures electronic soon ?

A 'violation of fiduciary responsibility to maximize shareholder results' would only apply to keeping open underutilized, unwanted pits so that floor trader friends of management can maintain their business. My point being, the CME is a public corporation now. They can't get away with things...
