Can I use esignal datafeed in TWS instead of IB data feed?

I tried integrating esignal data feed into TWS even with the 32-bit version, didn't work. Copied some DLL as IB instructs in their troubleshooting guide, didn't work. Plus, they are the only vendor I've tried that charges VAT (20%) on top of their fees (I live in the EU). It seems too pricey...

Will IB still use Smart Order if you are using a 3rd party platform?

I'd like to add to this, if possible. I'm not entirely certain who handles what in the DAS - IB combo. I understand that DAS provides the data and the software, but after sending the order who handles the routing, and the pre-trade risk management? DAS touts being colocated at the Nasdaq data...

    Brexit and IB

This is a good point, actually. I know TastyTrades, Lightspeed and probably others are available for EU clients, so I'm not sure why IB couldn't simply allow clients to be moved under US regulation after Brexit instead of strictly EU. My only guess is that it has to do with cost optimization...

    Brexit and IB

If you refuse the transfer it will be considered entering in a relationship with IBUK at your own initiative. There are no guarantees that they will be able to service your orders indefinitely or offer the same range of instruments. Also, you will not benefit from EU regulatory protection or EU...

    Long awaited changes to RegNMS

The short story: The rules adopted today update and expand the content of NMS market data to include: (1) information about orders in share amounts smaller than the current round lot size (e.g., 100 shares); (2) information about certain orders that are outside of an exchange’s best bid and...

Is my broker's favorite market maker looking at my keystrokes?

While all this sounds like a tin-foil hat thread, your broker/market data vendor can store and sell your behavior data to third parties or use it for their own advantage if specified in the terms and conditions. One example of this is Trade Ideas. They very clearly specify that they can offer...

    wtf IB?

Their latest report specifies a 50% increase YoY in the number of clients. Covid has turned everyone and their mother to trading. Their infrastructure may not be too well adapted yet.

Markets dead, no quotes, whats going on ?

Just switched data providers recently and today I sent them a confused email to check if my account is active or something is wrong. I'm not from the US. The shame when I realized...

Bitcoin Could Hit $500,000, the Founder and CEO of Ark Invest Says

Hype is followed by disillusionment, it's not a steady path to mass adoption. So both the optimists and the pessimists tend to be right at some point about every new technology.

Bitcoin Could Hit $500,000, the Founder and CEO of Ark Invest Says

Uh, she runs an innovation-oriented fund, which includes crypto plays? Just like most quoted investors, she is the primary beneficiary of her own opinions.

Bitcoin Could Hit $500,000, the Founder and CEO of Ark Invest Says

Just like with every innovation, investors tend to overestimate its potential in the short term and undervalue it in the long run. Crypto is still in the hype cycle. If it sticks around, it is likely to reach mainstream adoption and maturity in what seems to be an average of 10-15 years. You...

How much latency is too much for day trading?

Ah, yes, I now remember reading about that, thanks They do mention that there is a distinction between market data and tick by tick, and the latter is available in the time&sales window starting with TWS v969. https://interactivebrokers.github.io/tws-api/top_data.html In any case, to broaden...

    Benzinga subscription via TWS

Hey guys, I recently saw that you can get Benzinga news service in TWS for $35. If you purchase the basic service on Benzinga website, it's $99. Has anyone used the TWS integration and can tell what you get and what is left out?

How soon changing data subscription take effect.

Just remember that it takes 1 business day for unsubscribing, so don't do it in the very last day of the month or you might end up pay for the following as well.

    What do you call this?

Pre-market starts at 4:00 on equities, but some brokers allow trading only later. Maybe your broker starts pre-market at 8:00 and all that backlog is being dumped in one second?

    Brexit and IB

They sent this to avoid being fined by financial regulators if they still provide services to EU citizens after Brexit. It's legal language. You can still trade with them, but, since their "financial passport" to EU expires at the end of the year, any trades you do with them will be considered...

    Web Based Servers

Just remember that if you average more than than 390 option orders (if that's what you trade) per day (filled or not) during a month you will be flagged as professional, be charged accordingly and lose priority benefits. https://markets.cboe.com/us/equities/trading/offerings/retail_priority/...

TWS charts showing futures above spot whereas the monitor shows futures below?

Not sure if it's related, but I've noticed chart glitches a couple of times today in TWS. Bid/asks would stay frozen on the chart, but the time&sales window would show updated prices. Had to restart it when this happened.

How much latency is too much for day trading?

I am connected to IB's UK server. But for trading US products they, too, have to get data from the exchanges from across the ocean, so am I correct to be taking the latency to IB US as benchmark?
