average profit goal for high volume traders?

Having a precise goal on cents per share is never a good idea either (as the originator of the thread asks). You'll either try to hold on to a loser, trying to make your cents/share number......or you'll cut loose a real winner too soon, after you've reached your cents/share target. You'll...

average profit goal for high volume traders?

.0499/ share profit (net) last year. 59% winners, 41% losers x a boatload of shares. Avg. % gain per day......less than 1%, but extremely consistent.

Why dont you discuss about low trades?

Nobody talks about them because they're so small. I traded with them for about 18months-really sad operation then. The software, quotes, and routing were always going down. Very poor accounting through computer clearing services. A major mess for me. Just my opinion, but good luck. Bp...

    Your experiences with MB Trading

Not a bad brokerage firm at all. I've traded there a couple years. The interface makes it difficult to manage a lot of positions at once, so it's hard for me to do volume there. I wouldn't worry about your capital. They clear through penson for stocks. Customer service is excellent and...

USB memory vs. Ext hard drive

Just hit "Browse" for file selection, if you're trying to use the same file everytime for charting, then you can select from any drive. It should autoselect/detect the same drive every time after that unless drive paths/letters have changed. The same drive letter is not neccesary for ea. PC. If...

USB memory vs. Ext hard drive

I've got a 80GB western digital passport, external drive. It's powered by it's USB connect....no AC power adapter needed. It's very small, and is plug and play on XP. It's the perfect middle ground between a USB flash, and a large external drive. Really great device.

    Agreed.

    MB Trading

From my experience almost none of the brokers charge interest on shorts ( just a couple may). The people who answer the phone rarely know, ask the clearing firm, or compute it from your statement. IB pays you CREDIT interest on shorts....it adds up. Afterall, you've received cash for a sold...

Anyone ever try to explain their trading career choice to family?

Yup, they wanted a piece of the action as well, after several years of insane returns. Late to the party, really. I took a couple $k of their "mad money" and put it to work for them. After the continued comments, and constant questions of "how'd you do???" (worried tone) after a semi big up/down...

Anyone ever try to explain their trading career choice to family?

I've made it, kept it, showed it ......and to them, it still barely matters, even after 8-9years. They don't understand it, and find it as hard to understand as ever, even after simply explaining it in 1+1=2 kind of terms. It can be quite frustrating. What's worse is when you've got several...

    Busted trade? Why?

They're definitely hit & miss on who, when & how they enforce the "erroneous rule" to. I've read (contrary to a previous post), on their sites, that both ISLD & ARCA will (roughly) bust anything over 10% afterhours, and 5% during market hours, away from the market. I've had stuff busted...
