It's a papertrader error.
It's a pain, but just re-launch TWS--and it'll work ok for 20-30 minutes. I think much depends on the security your testing.
It's good for debugging, but not true result testing.
def,
I'm fairly certain I know what ak15 is referring to, regarding order routing. As strange as it may sound, this is an issue that I've confirmed with your developers, and the exchange--the repricing of orders when using SMART. This is related to stocks only, as far as I know of.
The...
ROFL lescor,
Can't believe you let the "Ass and Tool Society" slip out on ET!
ROFL!!
(Our old code name to keep intruders out....nothing more fellas!!).
Cheers lescor! I vote your office the best of the bunch, for sure, beats mine hands down. Congrats on a great 2007, btw...
Def--
Thanks for the breakdown, most firms won't be that blunt. It does show the overhead.
I've been dropping 4-9k/day in commish at IB, lately- and am looking to ramp up velocity and volume--so this topic is certainly of concern.
I've got 2 concerns if going higher velocity at IB--...
I do 8-10m shares a month. Agreed IB is dramatically stepping up their internalization if you're taking liquidity and spread is over X cents.

You'll have to direct route using non-SMART order entry to overcome this, but even then, you'll run into ARCA type rejects (if routed there) because of IB algo logic.
Szeven, my good buddy....it's been way too long.
You'll always be one of the most impressive traders in growth and consistency that'll I'll likely ever know. Kudos O.
Set up for a record year here. Took a 50k+ DD mid month last month, but now over 200k outta that hole & prepping for a...
100% Agreed.
Trading appeared to go uninterrupted on all ECNs--yet all IB customers were blocked from trading ON ANY ECN OR EXCHANGE.
This is the problem.
I was able to trade AMEX on ECNs at other brokerages, during the IB halt.
FYI--This didn't effect RTH orders only, I know that...
Guys....it's pretty easy to have a software bug & end up painting the tape.
That said, some time ago, for retail IB accounts, IB instituted an algorithim that prevents their customers from mis-keying an order that would paint their own tape (that customer's order against his own).
IB...

Norton partition magic has PQboot for windows, which can help manage what you boot. A so-so, app from what I remember.
I ghost a lot, so this isn't a very good option for me, though.
