Best trading platform for IB excluding TWS

I don’t do visual trading, but I have IQfeed and IB data, and I trade liquid US equities. The IB last price gets to me 300-500ms faster than IQFeed. It’s pretty accurate, enough that it became the basis for my algo logic. I use IQFeed for research only. I’m 9ms away from IB central gateway, and...

Your experiences with being auto-liquidated by IBKR's strict risk management

I'm not buying it. The issue is leverage and undercapitalization.

Your experiences with being auto-liquidated by IBKR's strict risk management

IB auto-liquidation isn't a broker incompetence. It's a client position management problem. I've never once had an issue with this using IB for 10+ years

Toxic order flow against limit orders

This sounds interesting. I’m in:thumbsup: I’m presuming some might be building market making models around taking liquidity. You think so?

I think you’ve convinced me to agree with you. This isn’t child’s play.

Toxic order flow against limit orders

A grey area for sure. By positive, I did mean opposite of toxic. I think that’s accurate. It sounds good :)

Toxic order flow against limit orders

Sure you can. I do it on a daily basis. To clarify, I’m not talking resting bracket orders. Liquid markets back and fill constantly. Once price meets the criteria, you send the limit order to add/take liquidity, hopefully leaning into the positive order flow. I currently allow 30 seconds till...

Toxic order flow against limit orders

In reference to capturing price breakouts in liquid instruments, is there a set time in seconds anyone would suggest before canceling unfilled limit orders, to avoid toxic order flow? Non-HFT of course

    Universal Portfolio

I have done long only monthly rebalancing in an IRA for a friend, implementing a combination of volatility based sizing and industry rotation yielding him -2% for the year which I find pretty dull. Looking at the big picture though, the benchmark ended 5x worse, and only large caps were held in...

    Universal Portfolio

You do get large volume discounts from the IB tiered commission structure, but probably still not enough to warrant a viable retail strategy. Perhaps weekly rebalancing might beat the benchmark.

Just curious if anyone here implements this type of strategy: http://epchan.blogspot.com/2007/01/universal-portfolios.html

I think 1 in 3 women carry some form of an STD. Hooker, or not.

Stop eating. You’ll have a six pack in a month if you don’t die first.

It’s been a few years since TWS C# API release. Can anyone here share experiences and opinions?

Relocating to a new country to trade. Where do I go?

And what benefit does it provide the deceased?

Relocating to a new country to trade. Where do I go?

You still die alone. Friends, or money don’t come with you. Not sure why, or how the former can be anymore important than the latter. The concept of “meaning” is the greatest fallacy. You exist, then you don’t.

    Best programming language for trading?

Extremely opaque, but plenty fast, and elegant.

i have a solid system. i'm looking for help - collaboration to trade it.

Great point there. It just shows the lack of ones ability to apply context. Rules without context are surely a guaranteed road to failure in this business.

How do I get a job at proprietary trading firm?

I’m sorry, but that’s not how the ups and downs of trading work. You don’t just place bets into a random number generator, and plan a fixed 30% annual ROI.

How do I get a job at proprietary trading firm?

Sounds like blood money. At this point in life I’d be happier driving Uber at 3.5 hours a day for 35k a year. Minimalism is the way to go :)
