I sometimes strictly trade on rebates, and believe me the rebates could amass a couple of thousand dollars in a day. Apply that to very low if any commission and you have an extremely profitable day/month/year.

I will agree with the fact that 4 letter symbols trade nicely, for me. First establish a set strategy and style then choose which stocks you will trade aggressively and CAPITALIZE !!!

If it is a proprietary position with no individual capital contribution and they eat the losses.. I would read the fine print.. they have to be raping you on fees. and the payout is probably so small... I would rather eat my own losses for decent fees and decent payout.. let the real traders...

I say load up .. soup to nuts .. on the QQQ's ... as far as holding onto losses.. that is a mistake.. a true investor knows when to cut his losses..

I pay per share.. I do around 200K shares a day.. 300 tickets or so.. it varies on the fills.. I trade Naz 100.. volume of at least 10M up to 100M a day..

There are firms here in NYC that charge that amount and even under that.. I work for one.. the fees include ECN , SEC taxes, SOES functions and Give Up fees... I learned how to trade by scalping.. I think it is a better idea than the reverse.. position then scalping.. It is easier to go from scalping to positioning then. .the opposite... I do agree that the mindsets are totally different .. but thats what makes it challenging and exciting..it is hard...

To Eldredge... as far as scalping MER .. it seems pretty tough.. especially when there are spreads such as that.. high bid low offer is the key to any scalping method.. I don't find many people who can consistently get paid on those positions....without losing your whole account now and then...
