Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

This is a funny thread. Now I'm no pro and I've blown out my own account too many times - and Rob blew it with that trade losing all that money etc - - - - but I gotta say that I am doing great trading his methodology using volume, levels and MAs. One thing I do not do is scale in like I'm...

Demo account results vs real live trading

I've more than tripled my account with FXCM and far as I'm concerned, whoever knocks them as being a "bucket shop" etc are simply sorry arse losing traders who choose to make them an excuse for their own sorry arse trading. Proof is here...

    Retail broker suggestion

FXCM.com has been reliable for me. I could not log on once in the last few months, after about 10 minutes all was fine. Don't know what else is out there that is better but hope to find out in this thread.

    EUR/USD

Nice trade! 1.270 area I posted shows up as a previous area that we had a good bounce off of about 18 months ago on the monthly chart.

    EUR/USD

FWIW, USD/CHF moves inverse to EUR/USD almost tick for tick most of the time. If nothing else, the EUR falling like a brick should've kept folks long or out of CHF imo. Lack of meaningful bounce on EUR/USD at this morning's lows = don't look for bounce yet. 1.2700 is a good bounce area IMTO.

    EUR/USD

I don't think it's entirely the result of stop hunting, but since everyone and their broker is short the pair, it does make sense that a lot of folks cover (buy) their positions before heading into the weekend - which will no doubt trigger stop losses - especially those "late to the party"...

    "No Stop" Forex Trading?

1st you must understand that while demo trading can give you a feel for the real thing, it can also be one of the most "devastating to your account tools" that there is if you allow that. This is very simply because there is no substitute for the emotions traders experience when they have their...

    EUR will skyrocket this afternoon

Well, could be an inverse H&S on hourly chart that has already played out, or is nearly played out. With all the overhead resistance, the path of least resistance is still down.

    what's the advantage of trading

Trading Currency Futures pretty much assures there is no manipulation from your broker - but for this you pay commissions whereas trading the actual currency pairs, your broker makes commissions off the spread............some brokers keep the spread tight and still charge commissions depending...

    Reversals...

Falling volume can suggest lack of institutional interest, particularly as price approaches new highs, lows or established support or resistance areas. Same as rising volume or volume spikes can suggest institutional interest. Them wascaly institutional wabbits drive price, and far as I know...

    Reversals...

I only agree somewhat here. Like you, I use the 15 minute as one of my primary charts, but I do use indicators more for confirmation and divergences as they are lagging indicators. For example, on the eur/usd, there is a monthly pivot at the 1.367 area. Now supposing price was to shoot up...

    Reversals...

I'm guessing that by you looking for a good reversal indicator that you are trying to enter trades at the expected reversal area......vs exiting already profitable positions just before or just after the expected reversal - which is the safest (only?) way to trade reversals. Most traders...
