No problem. Did you finally tried the program with the intraday data? I had it do a few runs last week and the results weren't that bad. I didn't run and out of sample tests though.

When I first tested the demo I tried 5min bars and it produced many patterns. The main issue is whether these patterns are robust enough for using them in real trading. The good thing about this program is that you can always test these patterns on unseen data using a fucntion called Test...

Learn to trade one stock first using your method. Jumping to many stocks at once will only multiply your problems, your cost and speed up your eventual failure due to a massive drawdown with your name on it. Friendly advice.

I disagree. On the contrary, shares can plunge 50% overnight easily. This is hardly an issue in futures. I think you are doing it the wrong way. The only problem with futures is limits. Some have and some don't.

Too vague of a question. What is your risk percent? Will you set a stop-loss? What kind of a drawdown do you expect? 40K may not be nearly enough depending on what you will be doing. I'm trying to locate a paper for you that gives details. I know of a book but it is out of print.

IMO this is a wired use of the data-mining term. Usually, data-mining invloves backtesting a number of rules on the same data sample and selecting the best performing ones based on some criterion. Maybe I missed something. Could you clarify a little your methodology?
