Sounds like you are paying a currency spread between GBP and USD once a month to even the account. That seems to be unnecessary unless there is a really good reason to be staying in pounds (safety?) You should say why you want to fund in pounds then we can weigh the benefits/drawbacks.

I would agree if we were talking equities--it is late in the business cycle. But gold is a separate asset, unless I'm missing something. Enlighten us if you would.Good pun BTW.

Well I'm looking for some sort of reversal pattern followed by a retest. Obviously we aren't there. I'd sell the first retracement but its hard to quantify. We may just flatten out without a spike down but I doubt it. It's kinda like looking at seed catalogs in February. Vegetable porn.--Swimr

A better idea would be to just send your trading capital to your favorite charity where it will have a nice home. Or just send it to Swimr. It won't have as nice a home but it will definitely enjoy itself.
