Whose right me or Sheldon Natenberg?

The Casinos edge in a double 00 wheel is 5.26%, so your calculations on this front are correct

    gold & silver sector

Here's a good stock for any mega bulls out there. VGZ it's like a long dated call option on gold that nver expires. It's costs of production are very high and right now I don't think its mines are even operational. But if gold hits the high 300's and above then they get bak in business and...

    Simple Vix Question

I fully understand what VIX is, but sometimes the moves confuse me - Like today. Why is it up around 10%, volume not great, move in stocks hardly front or even near the front page. Why does it move around crazy like this? And also I asked a question on odd lots in the stockmarket...

    how to answer this questions?

With good ranges it is easy to make 2.5 points a day. The trouble is that it's even easier to lose more than this. I go with A, let him try and let the market explain how things really work.

    Odd lots

Can someone please explain to me about odd lots on the stockmarket. Am I right in thinking that an add lot is anything below 100 shares? If so is it possible to have an order in to buy 525 shares of something and only get filled on 500 even though the price traded below the limit price...

Please help with this spread betting SP500 strategy

If you're confident in your ability and system then why not forget spread bets and do it on the real market. Spreads IMO are no way to trade properly. Tax free yes, but the cost of doing business is way too high, some charges you can see, others you can't

    Phantom of the Pits

Just finished reading the excellent Phantom of the Pits http://www.webtrading.com/phantom/preface.htm and was wondering if anyone's got comments on what he says and advises. Have any traders worked hard at his advice and come out better, or with a different outlook on their trading? Or...

    Geneva Trading

Used to work in a firm that Geneva cleared through. The Christmas party was normally a big affair with wives/girlfriends etc. She was a stunner alright.

    Quadriga funds?

Here's his quote; Q:What is the future of this industry? A:I can see two major trends: Firsty, hedge funds are going to take the place of traditional investment funds, because hedge funds are also able to profit from falling prices. Secondly, fund management is going to change to a...

What If a Nuke Goes Off in America?

Sammybea How would you take insurance out overnight? To me there's only 2 ways, cover all of your position or part of it or buy some calls/puts. If you do the first then you don't really have a position at all. If you do the second then the cost of doing business will eat you...

    Quadriga funds?

If I'm not mistaken Quadriga took a massive hit in Oct, like -28%. A lot to lose in a month when capital preservation is the name of the game. However one can't argue with their returns although reading their website the principal states that computers will one day rule the trading world...

What If a Nuke Goes Off in America?

probability is on your side, you might be short of flat. But seriously, there's nothing you can do about risks similar to the this. Another one to think about is what would happen when you're long overnight and a massive Tokyo earthquake hits. One every 100 years and the time is right about now.

    Problem with IB buy stops

OK, no problem, but I'm not asking this question in relation to actual stops, but how to use them in conjunction with how the IB platform operates. Thanks

    Problem with IB buy stops

Def Thanks, so how would you or anyone else use a stop on the miniSP. Say the market is at 910 and you want to place your buy stop at 915? And assume that this was a short position that you wanted to cover and not a long position to enter. Would you go; + 1 at 915 stop limit some...

    Problem with IB buy stops

Stops and stop limits with IB, I don't understand. Now I know exactly what the stops are but their implementation is what I need some advice on. Take the SP at 910 a) Buy 1 SP at 915 on stop b) Buy 1 SP at 915 stop limit 920 (920 is an arbitrary level) Are people saying that...

    Todd Harrison is writing again

Still think he's a little bit loony, but I'm not knocking his ability. Been reading his daily reports and while I doubt that anyone can make head or tail of what he's really doing, there are some good trading ideas and tips discussed. For example, I agree with what he said last week...
