    SPX - Upcoming Week

re:SPX Been a while since SPX had an outside bar in the monthly timeframe, last time (marked in the chart). Considering earlier this month we were able to take December's high (by a measly point) and the fact that we are not far from December's low, will this upcoming earnings week and FOMC...

    FREE lunch today

Ya, I've been lurking for a while know and was thinking the same thing, they never discuss the whole "when not to trade aspect" of daytrading. Maybe it's a secret kept in a hidden vault.

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

On the long, you go long before the 50% retrace area is taken. Per your rules: "When the line is broken, price is given a chance to retrace. As long as it doesn't retrace more than 50%, the trader stays in the trade." so why did you long prematurely before the 50% line was broken? Thanks

What does it mean to "move stop to break even"

Buy 2 @ 1500 Sell 1 @ 1600 Break even to me, is 1400 + comm It also makes for more intelligent scaling out as you trail the stop by widening it and not shrinking it without increasing risk

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

I understand the exit, when the trend-line is broken you mark the 50% area and if that goes, you exit. However, whats your signal for entry ? Thanks

If You Can Draw A Straight Line . . .

Pretty clear and effective, much easier to comprehend than the nonsense Hershey posts. Now, you just fade the levels or do you go for price confirmation ?

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

And what to do with the excess cash ? Whole new problem arises when you consider that.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Not necessarily. Say your holding currency is the USD and the USD went down .5% that day, yet you made 1% in your holding capital, you made money without trading currency pairs. I understand what you say about the holding currency depreciation, but you can beat it without actually trading...

Let's discuss trading styles that don't involve prediction

At some point, to make money, you are going to have to make a prediction, whether it's on direction, lack of direction, volatility, or both. However, with that said, I like the topic of discussion. :)
