it doesn't require 512 mb of ram, the level 2 data needs some working on, but other than that the fills are very fast, and they have alot of nice features if you trade different instruments.
Right now it's setup as more of a swing trading platform. But once the level 2 data gets better, and...
thank you axehawk, all u guys out to change the NYSE from an auction style market to an electronic market, please realize, you already have Nasdaq.
LEAVE THE NYSE ALONE
i luv the specialist!
i made money gross, and broke even net.
I traded mostly listed stuff.
things went well until I messed with HAR. I was up 96 cents on 2300 shares. I ended flat because of this pos... a little too gappy for my taste.
I also traded CVTX today. I shorted it 3 times at 24.40's.

try limiting the history of the charts and time and sales, that helped me.
also if you have quote screens, limit the number of symbols to whats necessary. Too many really slows everything down.
I'm using radarscreen to analyze the time and sales of a list of stocks. The problem is that radar screen isn't working well. It misses prints, and therefore gives false indications or just misses out on the alert entirely. I'm only using 2 nested if statements, I think it should be faster...
i hope the tide doesn't turn for the specialist. If people don't like the way the NYSE trades, they should trade Nazdaq, or they can get butt raped by the amex mm's.

if theres one thing I've learned, it's don't underestimate the trend.
I don't know how high it could go, but it hasn't shown any signs of weakness (yet).
if cpu maxes out, it's a video card issue. Minimum requirement is 64 megs per monitor.
If cpu is not maxing out, and there is still a problem, then its either the memory is low, internet connection is slow, or quote provider is slow.
