Forget companies doing outsourcing, especially financial applications.

I have not tested Java but my experience with C# and VB.NET and C++ shows that to get the maximum performance C++ gives much more room because you can go to the bare metal for optimizations. Also the memory requirements in C# and VB.NET a bigger. I don;t wonder so many vendors a having problems...

I am surprised they use Java. Java by definition is slow.

I see TradeLog and GainsKeeper representatives on the forum - could you please tell me how you prorm your calculations - a floating point or decimal arithmetic?

I have a simple question - does TradeLog and other similar software is using floating point or decimal arithmetic calculations. Because it is a huge difference.

I am doing research about which trading systems are using Decimal calculations? Seems to me the difference between Double and Decimal is not widely known.

You can start creating a feature matrix what such software should do. It would be interesting to see what other forum members think - the minimum set of features needed for such package.
