Any ex-Nasdaq scalper/momentum traders come back over the last few months?

daytraderpete I will PM you. I guess the crap fills and artifically restricted movements get tiring battling everyday. Besides many of the nasdaq stocks are showing more volume and volatility which is better for scalping for me. Actually when I moved over to NYSE I was doing really well...

Market making or prop trading job?

Yes I am very quick. It only caught my eye because I have talked to Refco recently along with some other firms. I was weighing and considering similar options. For me I would not want to trade on the floor so that is why I asked that. I think the future and where I would want to be long term...

Any ex-Nasdaq scalper/momentum traders come back over the last few months?

I wanted to see if there are any old Nasdaq momentum trader/scalpers who have returned to the game. I am not talking about liquidity traders but scalpers that would trade for 5-25 cents doing a decent amount of shares and trading off of futures movements. Most of the people that I know who...

the end of the NASDAQ and other tales from the near future.....

I wonder at what point Nasdaq throws in the towel. It seems every month they lose more market share. Is the threshold 10% or 5% marketshare before something drastic happens? It is probably a telling sign that their stock is on the pink sheets rather then on an exchange. What happen to the...

Is there such thing as Market Makers with Electronic Index/Interest Rate Futures?

I know there are many market maker firms that trade Options on indexes and options on stocks such as Group 1, Susquehanna, and Timber Hill. However are there firms out there that provide the same market making services/ firm proprietary trading for the electronic futures markets such as Eurex...

Is it possible to "JUST" tape-read

I am assuming this topic of tape reading is not in the usually sense the many traders think of when they hear tape reading where they are try to "read" the specialist and MM on nasdaq. It would seem, although I am sure there a few traders that still make money doing this old style of tape...

    EchoTrade offers new software

Although I am not in the know as much as I used to be, I have not heard anyone at Assent giving out automation software like this. I still have my acct there and probably would not trade at any other firm at the moment but I have never been offered an automated platform. I can develop a...

    Early exits are killing me.

Are these tick bar charts for stocks or futures? I had a hard time finding a good tick bar chart for stocks because the volume of each stock is so different.

    ATI 7500 pci HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the same card and returned it. I had a lot of problems with it and trying to use the pci card with the existing ATI card that came with my dell. So thinking it was a driver problem with too many cards running, I decided to just get a dual monitor card for that AGP slot. For some reason...

Secondary Income or other sources of income

I know someone that was a professional gambler before trading. For the last 1.5 years in the middle of the day when it was slow he would play the video poker off of the internet with one of those gambling sites. I think that it got to the point where he was making more with that then trading...

Secondary Income or other sources of income

It is not like he came on here and said pullbacks no longer work, double tops are no longer valid, and TA is bullshite. Basically he was saying that he would like another souce of income outside of trading and was looking for suggestions. All he got was that TA always works and responses...

It seems despite your recent posts that you too think about having other sources of income when trading is not great.

Secondary Income or other sources of income

I don't see anything wrong with what cornboy said. Strategies do change. Like for instance breakouts use to work great and then stopped working. It is not like it all changed in one week and everyone adapted to it at the same time. It usually takes a little while before realizing a change...

    bond futures

However what you are quoting is not normal pit volume is it? I went to the CME site and check and most days the pit does no where near that kind of volume and the emini has been by far surpassing the volume of the pit traded contract. For instance pit might trade 130K and the emini will trade...

    bond futures

How can a couple of prop firms dominant the screens on the emini when they are trading 700,000 plus contracts a day? I don't get it.

    Remote Prop trading

You should write Assent again and give them a list of other sub-llc names and ask about them. See if they respond back to you with info on all of them. My guess is you won't get a response. For some reason I get the feeling you don't really know how all this works.
