Anyone read Larry Williams book on trading off COT reports? Anyone using this strategy? Any thoughts on it? He talks about comparing the COT reports to historical positions by the commercials, specs, etc. Where can I find the historical averages?

I am long 2 YG (mini gold) and short 1 QM (miny crude oil) and the Portfolio analytics screen on IB gives me a Delta of +441.29 for the YG and -347.70 for the QM with net exposure of 93.59. My question is what do these numbers refer to? I am familiar with option deltas, but not futures...

The Gold/Oil ratio is now below 10 barrels per oz of gold. This is very low historically, and usually not sustainable. The ratio usually averages around 14-15. This says either lower oil, higher gold or both.

I recently opened an IB account, but I cannot enter SP into the quote monitor. Every other quote populates just fine. Does SP require a paid data feed subscription?

Look at the gold/oil ratio, it is very low compared to historical trends. Long gold, short oil is the trade if you want to play it.

One thing you'll notice about these shows is that the camera angles change about every 2 seconds and if someone (esp on CNBC) speaks for more than 3 sentences, the host cuts them off. This is just a function of our ADD culture. If there was a serious, sober show focusing on true investing...
