    Sterling API Developer Thread

Sterling API needs a few things and the same ones I pointed out to them 3 years ago...they said the software is "complex" and I suggested, give me the code and I'll give it back to you by the end of the day with all the new features; a) SetPrimaryIP(Address, Port) b) SetSecondary(Address...

hi lasner, Not sure if you need biz/tax structure setup, but if you do there may be some good info here; http://www.greencompany.com/HedgeFunds/LaunchServices.shtml It seems to me the big difference between trading and having a hedge fund with greater amounts of capital in the market...

    Why does technical analysis work

xiaohu, I'll take a stab: So in the end, why does technical analysis work? - Many years of statistical computer modeling on my part indicate TA does not work, or at least is not repeatable to a level where it becomes a valuable tool. For those of you who like S/R levels, pivot points, is...

Most volatile days of the week

travis, imo - back testing keeps you in the past and tomorrow probably won't be the same as yesterday...look ahead instead and test tomorrow, the remainder of the week, then next week and you'll get a clearer picture...but don't hold the results as Gospel because it all changes over time...

    Why does technical analysis work

woe that so many threads seem worthy, trend in some direction of science or analysis for a moment, then deteriorate into emptiness... http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=emptiness&x=0&y=0 oh well

How much do you need to realistically make it?

So true, which is why believing nothing of what is spoken and only 1/2 of what is seen makes such perfect sense!

    Why does technical analysis work

<U>An Introduction To Chaos</U> Many people believe that twentieth century science will be remebered for three main theories: quantum mechanics, relativity, and chaos. Chaos theory is a blanketing theory that covers all aspects of sciece, hence, it shows up everywhere in the world today...

    Why does technical analysis work

Good point on the human mind and markets being driven by emotion, but the markets 'are' a physical entity. I think most subscribe them to Chaos theory and the difficulty of accurate prediction that's similar in nature to predicting the weather or the actual path of a hurricane. Not that...

    Why does technical analysis work

It seems like TA was fine when prices were plotted in pencil and on graph paper at day's end from closing quotes in the news paper's financial section and clearly the markets are a physical (<B>E = MC^2</B>) system and may be modeled accordingly. The equation in the era of computers and the...
