As I understand it (In Florida at least), if you don't put down 20% you have to buy some sort of homeowner's insurance that costs you extra every month until you can get about 20% equity and refinance.

What everyone else is doing: Go to school, finance it my taking out massive student loans. Tell everyone you know...family, friends, strangers..exactly how much money you think youre going to make as soon as you graduate. Take the highest paying job upon graduation as to not dissapoint...

Stick it in a high interest bearing savings or MM account. With a 5.5% yield it will only take about 900 years to reach 500k. Then subtract for inflation.

Word on the street is that it's bottomed here in Tallahassee. My property peaked after about a 40%+ increase in just 3 years. Everything seems to be for sale though nowadays. I think college towns are a bit harder to predict with the constant influx of students and what not.

I think you'd have a lot better chance of getting rid of those if you split them up some.

I hear a lot about these "rich dad poor dad" books and i've seen them in bookstores. I saw the author on tv promoting something and he seems like a real tool...talking about how it is good to have debt and all this kind of crap. Can anyone tell me what this guy's all about?

I bought a book yesterday titled "Getting started in Futures" by Todd Lofton. It looks pretty thorough and is targeted towards beginners. It was only 20 bucks at Barnes and Noble. I can't really give a review of it but someone else out here has read his work they might be able to help. Good Luck.

I assumed that most normal people can't afford to lose that much cash and still keep at it. I was thinking more towards the average guy who started out with less than 10 or 15 thousand. Guess I was wrong to think that the majority would be in a lower bracket... oh well...I guess I won't quit my...
