    Position hedging

I'm not an options guru (In fact I think my knowledge barely scratches the surface), but as far as I know an ATM option will usually have a delta (= exposure to price) of 0.5, meaning you would need to open double the position-size in options than your original (underlying) position. This of...

    How is Interactive Brokers Cheaper?

If only IB would not charge the DAILY carrying fees... I would move all my spread trading to IB if it were not for these fees. (They do add up for larger spread positions which are held for longer periods...) I know I can go 'bundled' but bundled commissions are not competitive anymore...:(

is it possible to day trade Euribor ?

Using an autospreader this is possible, but you may be giving up some edge as the machine usually only works 1 leg and than hit/ lifts the other leg(s) - I have also worked with a spreader that will 'work' the second / third etc leg, but found that the logic when to hit / lift in case the market...

is it possible to day trade Euribor ?

I agree it is very important to understand this difference. I described this in my reply as - 'I assume you mean...' as this is a common mistake people make. (especially non-natives.... and I have to admit that when I started trading this was very confusing for me as well) I was hoping this...

is it possible to day trade Euribor ?

Let me 'try' this :):) One thing though - If you have been trading the spread for some time you should know this !!!! Euribor is UNSECURED and therefore represents a risk. Schatz is government debt (therefore expected to be risk free) if you 'neutralize the duration' as you call it - I...

    Looking for Precious Metal Funds

The most liquid ETF's that are actually backed by PHYSICAL holdings and are not leveraged are: Gold - Streettracks Gold (GLD US) Silver - iShares Silver Trust (SLV US) For platinum I had a harder time finding a liquid ETF backed by physical, but in the end decided to invest via: ETFS...

Orders executed above the ask and below the bid

From my (limited) equity trading knowledge (It has been a while since I traded equities professionally) I would say that the most likely explanation is that what you see are actually trades that were executed directly between parties and were reported late. (As all trades have to be reported to...

To European (or non US) traders - how do you cover exchange risk ?

At the moment I'm not using this solution, but I used to do this: Assuming your base currency is EUR: Open a trading account in USD, and a forex account with base currency EUR. (At the time I used OANDA, no recommendation as I haven't used them for a while - do your own due dilligence)...

Cheap Trading of LIFFE IR Exchange Based Spreads

I would be very surprised if any package would offer access to Liffe, but not to all contracts on liffe. The fact that this (spread) contract can be seen as two outright contracts doesn't change this.. The contract has one ticker and can thus be traded without legging. What packages have...

Cheap Trading of LIFFE IR Exchange Based Spreads

Don't really understand your question.... Euribor is a very liquid contract. And in general the spreads are quite liquid as well... Euribor spreads are just exchange traded contracts (no spreads in the form of 2 separate contracts) although you can obviously create a spread yourself through...

    Dividend

When you short a stock, you are borrowing the stock from an investor or broker, then selling those shares on the open market to a second investor. Even though you borrowed and sold the shares to another investor, the transaction between you and the lender is still listed on the books as if the...
