    Simple System for Beginners

    Simple stuff never works.

What chart type? Time, tick or volume

Check out this link for a discussion: http://www.ensignsoftware.com/tips/tradingtips49.htm Scroll down to the section on "Momentum Bars". There is a comparison of charts of time, ticks, volume and momentum (range).

What chart type? Time, tick or volume

I don't know that though - again, like you stated above - it depends on how many trades caused the movement. For me, it's like comparing apples to oranges. A lot of ticks (trades) might be either a little volume (small contracts per trade) or a lot of volume (large contracts per trade). A...
  5. Q

What chart type? Time, tick or volume

Yes, but in your example, IF the trades cause the price to move, you will "see" the price movement faster on the tick chart since more bars will have closed vs. the volume chart which might include the entire price movement in one bar - instead of across a number of bars - thus your indicator...
  6. Q

What chart type? Time, tick or volume

The volume chart is based only on volume - so the price "moving" wouldn't have any effect on the bars created based on volume. Totally depends on the number of contracts traded.
  7. Q

What chart type? Time, tick or volume

You don't - just as you didn't really know that a tick chart was "showing the aggressor in the transaction". Neither type of chart shows you any of that.
  8. Q

What chart type? Time, tick or volume

Guy - Why do you assume that "big money" who wants to buy 100 contracts right now always does so with a single order for 100 contracts and not 50 2 contract orders - or some other combination thereof?

Charting ES AH - what to use?

QCharts shows a/h activity also - or at least it used to. Check the "all sessions" box.

    ES Data strangeness

I don't know if it matters or not - however, if you use the closing price in any calculations then I guess it *should* matter - you want to use the "right" one, don't you? :D
  11. Q

    ES Data strangeness

I haven't really noticed where they typically open post-eom settlement. However, you will often see people complaining that the +/- from the previous day is incorrect because they are basing it off the :15 close and not the actual settlement, which is the value used to calculated the +/- the...
  12. Q

    ES Data strangeness

The closing price and the actual settlement price are usually a few points different (by "fair value") because of the end-of-month settlement procedures - see this link for more info: http://www.cme.com/prd/eq/fairvaluefaq2544.html This happens at the end of every month.

Lots of monitors just to show off?

    Ok.

Lots of monitors just to show off?

Baruch - Would you please stop replying to threads that are 1, 2 and sometimes 3 years old? Multiple replies to people who haven't posted in 2 years doesn't really make much sense, imo.

Also, I wonder if the "testimonials" are covered under the disclaimer. Surely testimonials are offered as actual fact - not potential. Surely no firm would put these testimonials on their website without actually verifying them, right? Most testimonials are even more unbelievable than...

What I don't understand is how these places can get away with advertising "potential" gains as the main part of their advertising. They all hide behind their disclaimers - the disclaimers that say they are just "potential" gains. They says "hey, there is a disclaimer..." But you know what...

What happened to all the BDT threads?

Shogun-trader posted on the newer thread before is vanished - a long tirade where he complained about the treatment he got here. He also said that he would NOTbe answering any questions about their advertising, claims, or anything like that from their website. Quite the opposite of what...

    BestDayTrader Q&A

Thanks BDT for the clarification. Just to make sure - you do realize that most of the questions are not specifically about the trading in the room - they are about the trading results posted on your website for each day - and how those results were calculated.
