    Best service

I've been with www.highchartpatterns.com since 2006. They're cheap and excellent, best in their class methinks (momentum trading). The big BUT though is that they're not going to hold your hand and I'm not sure if newbies can make money off their picks.... Correct me if I'm wrong....

How do you reward yourself for good trades?

I don't do much, just usually let it sit there, but once in a while I take it out and buy some gadget that I considered too extravagant before. Shit like Iphones, etc. Things that you don't really need (esp if you have a perfectly good cell phone) but that are fun to buy.

    Software for Risk Management IB

lol, I knew that would come. No, but a fail-safe feature isn't necessarily a bad thing. At least 2-3x a year I lose 3-4G out of frustration where I could have walked away with 1G loss only... and almost always it comes on days in which I'm stressed over other reasons (fight with spouse...

    Software for Risk Management IB

I agree Mins, I'd much rather have this feature come from IB than a 3rd party. Someone put it up on their features poll and lets vote for it. If it comes from IB, its said and done, no way around it.

    Software for Risk Management IB

tx chewbacca, I'll def check it out. One question -- is it reliable? Last thing I want is a 3rd party program to start screwing my orders....

    Software for Risk Management IB

I looked at buttontrader, yah it has it. I wish IB had this feature, obviously there are a lot of us who want it. Not sure if a broker would want to have it though, since ultimately it would mean less comms for them? but then again, if you blow out, you're not going to be trading either so...

    Software for Risk Management IB

You guys know of any software that works with IB that can manage risk? For example, at many prop firms you can set a max loss, so if you lose 1G in any given day, your positions are liquidated and you're shut out for the rest of the day. any way to get this with IB?

    Question for IB veterans

Great responses, now I know what to do. Many thanks. One more question -- if you use QT for your charts, you minimize TWS? And if so, you use integrated trading through QT? Or is that slower than using TWS straight? Also is IB data feed good enough, or do you need to use E-siggy or...

    Question for IB veterans

Which version works best in the long run , standalone, or web-based TWS. I have a fast cable connection. IB site seems to push the browser-based TWS as the best one. tia

    quick question

Yes you're right. Making 300k a year is great and as you guys say, no reason to change one's comfort zone. No idea about how long he's been trading, his strategy, etc. Met him at a trader's hookup, talked for 10-20 minutes, and that was it. Made it sound so easy though for an instance I...
