I am down for the year 0.4 R. And swing trading only. First/previous 2 years with this method did pretty well. Strange that my equity oscillated this year within minisculus range minus 0.8 R and + 0.2 R, where R is risk per trade, basically only scratches. I hope this is how bad year looks :)

spreading seem to be prohibitively expensive area for retail trader. that's why prop firms are good I guess and probably more meat in spreading than in directional trading.

I would not call hang seng major market and would not touch it. they are outpriced by chinese and property speculation & finance the only economies left. So you risking 'country = hedge fund' effect, (like uk etc) ensuring you will lose long term. China index is real stuff.

I swing trade and majority of signals gets initiated in asia these days. so, cant be that bad. that is where real economy is.
