    Simulator for JTrader

Does anyone know where I can get a trading simulator that uses the JTrader API for it's price data, if there is such a piece of software? Thanx

    Bastard Testing

And the great thing (for the specialist of course!) is that he gets to charge you (or your broker) for having an order on his books for longer than 5 minutes. Called a "billable" order this is 3 times what he normally charges for a fill in under 5 minutes! Did you get a "thank you" message...

    The stoploss

I have the exact opposite problem. I have no problem taking the loss immediately it turns sour. Unfortunately this has not done me any good so far as I get chopped to death in anything but the most strong trending markets! :(

    Bastard Testing

My series 7 manual states that the specialist has to fill anything under 100 shares at the next traded price after he receives the order. So this should be quite accurate to backtest as you know the next tick will be yours, no?

    E-signal

Surely each trade in the time & sales window should be properly time stamped as to when it was traded in the pit/on the exchange etc. Then you would know about lag quite easily. However correct me if I am wrong but it seems that the time stamp just marks when it hits your computer, which...

    E-signal

Has anyone else got charged an "admin" fee of $3 on top of the $60 this month for the cme? Pretty rich considering their slow quote problems recently!

    E-signal

But US stock and futures quotes are OK? The Eurex thing I was told will be resolved in January when they get their own direct feed. It is not always behind though - only in fast markets I understand.

Any UK prop traders know Macfutures ??

I dont know anyone working there, but I did visit it once a few months back. Seems very expensive for what it is IMHO. Depends what you're looking for.

    Finding the most liquid market?

Im guessing you are swing trading these commodities so your complete question really is "which ones are liquid and also trend". I used to do this (until I got fed up of being screwed on the NY exchanges) so: 1. British Libor - No. 2. British Pound - OK, but choppy. Trade Euro/Yen/Franc...

ask/bid change but the last price doesn't

"You'll see the size available at these levels going up and down and up and down. None of these orders are getting executed, just entered and pulled." I would appreciate an explanantion of why traders do this. Surely if big players are trying to play games they would be using the inside...

    Estx50

I have no other source for stoxx50 and dax futures data right now other than esignal. However if you look at the time and sales the prints are keeping time properly with my PC clock(which is set automatically by esignal). Does this mean I am receiving timely quotes or not? Thanks

    UK vs US stocks

As far as I know the only place in europe which has constantly warm weather the year round is the canary islands (spain) off the north african coast. mainland spain does get cold in the winter.

How long do you wait for NYSE fills?

thanks for all your responses. basically I think the answer is that a minute or more is quite standard for NYSE trades. And yes, there are some nice (it's all relative you know!) specialists out there that constantly give you price improvements. I am working out which stocks have nice ones...

How long do you wait for NYSE fills?

I want to see if it is me or it is just slow compared to the electronic markets I previously traded. For instance just now I had my bullet in place and I tried to hit the BMY bid at 23.00 with just 100 shares (size was there) I waited for exactly a minute, trades went off at 23.01 in the...

    Euro BUND & BOBL

What do you guys use as a leading indicator to daytrade/scalp the eurex bund futures. a) before the US market opens b) when US bond pits are open I am assuming the answer to a) is the yield curve between short and long dated maturities at eurex, and b) would be either the US pit prices...

    Big Board Traders...

By the way how do you big board traders (especially scalpers) route your orders? If I do it via Superdot most of the time I could fall asleep waiting for orders to fill but for the larger caps it seems quicker on Island (instant nano second fill). Are you boys all using NX or something (I...

Anyone use Lets Go Trade (dba Choicetrade)?

Nitro et al I said I would post with my experiences with choicetrade. Well, so far so good. Nice little order entry box that can be sized and saved so that it fits snuggly (always on top) in a hole in my esignal screen. You click a bid or ask in esignal and the trade box populates...

Anyone use Lets Go Trade (dba Choicetrade)?

I am just setting up an account with them and will let you know how it goes. they have also just reduced their base commission to 1/2c. so that means nyse for 0.9c. Also dont forget you actually deposit your money with penson. this is a large respectable clearing house I am lead to believe.

    European traders, Roll Call !!!

"I am in Czech Republic, Prague. " Gotta love that Club Lavke under Charles Bridge. Many happy evenings there. Hope it wasn't damaged too much during the floods. Funnily enough I met more Americans there than anywhere else I have been in "mainland Europe"! By the way I am just starting...
