Currency: Well I am quite up today in a matter of speaking - it just means I am properly hedged right now. All because the UK retail sales showed growth. I would have thought this would have been bad for the pound, but then what do I know ?! If you are scalping dont press your winners. It...

I haven't traded yet (except currencies). I have had one set up so far. However I missed it due to an urgent appointment with the throne room !!! You are obviously working a different strategy to me. I tried scalping every move but somehow I too found less is more. There is always another...

Actually you're probably right. What time is that? The UK is actually not in the estoxx at all, however I have noticed that this news can move the estoxx anyway sometimes. Go figure !

Forex capital markets - Good, bad or???

IMHO if you are satisified with them not being CFTC registered, oanda is pretty much unbeatable. The rest pale in comparison.

    eminis vs. S & P

the eminis lead the s&ps because they are electronic. Every tick you see on the spoos has to be typed in by a (presumably amphetamine taking :D ) floor clerk. Hence on your data feed the illusion you get is the leadership factor.

I trade the absolute minimum that I am comfortable with. Someday I will actually use the proper money in my trading account, but I am just happy being consistent for now. An example: one of the things I found really mentally hurt me was the amount lost when wrong on the ES mini. I...

No golfing today - raining a bit too heavy now. Besides which my wife will kill me - I have a whole bunch of letters to write as we are moving house soon ! Hang in there. It is tough - I have been trading since 1997, but am only recently starting to get it. Don't beat yourself up, just...

Game over for me. Made my eurocents this AM and now with US market not open properly I am a bit wary about being not liquid enough. Going to play some golf.:D Good luck and try to stay awake in this boring market !!! PS: Looks like it is going up for a while though.

are good but for my money considering the commissions are the same thereabouts per contract usually, you get more bang for your buck (or is that eurobuck :p ) with the dax/estoxx.

    European traders, Roll Call !!!

I use oanda to (un)intelligently :p hedge my dollar/pound risk. You could just fix it at the rate when you convert the physical currency, but of course fear/greed comes into it and you can end up daytrading the forex like I do! The only problem with this is that when you are not mentally...
