Safest way to make 1% per month

Well again, something that we know would have gone to zero and been shut down in a market we've actually seen in the last 25 years is not something "safe" by any definition of that word in common usage. That doesn't mean it's not something you and I can trade successfully, but it does mean...

Safest way to make 1% per month

Out of curiosity, have you ever calculated what that averages in hourly wages if you count all your and your family's hours put into the project? I found I was at sub $50 the one time I did this, but then it was my first (and only!) time so I'm sure I was pretty inefficient at it.

USD as world reserve currency coming to an end?

Everything is relative when it comes to currency. You have lots of reasons to be down on the dollar, try listing them out. Then list out how the Yuan is better in each of those aspects. Even before you consider the fact that the country behind the Yuan is a dictatorship that has shown no...

Safest way to make 1% per month

Again, you're missing the entire concept of the word "safe" and "1% per month" and confusing it with "a good trading idea for me". Something can be a great trading thesis and not be at all "safe" or deliver anything close to "1% per month". Oil is one of those things.

Safest way to make 1% per month

Thank you for that education of basic facts of investing, thank goodness you opened my eyes to such wonders I was heretofore unaware of! No let's talk about education in basic word definition, like "safe" for example, or "1% per month" as another example.....just to actually answer the OP...

Safest way to make 1% per month

It's irrelevant I'd they are or aren't, the asset class is going to continue be one of the most volatile around as it has been for decades and therefore the opposite of a "safe" investment per the OP.

Safest way to make 1% per month

Making a bull bet in energy, one of the most volatile asset classes around, is your idea of the "Safest way to make 1% per month"?

This is what happens when the federal reserve prints trillions and trillions of dollar$$$$$$$

OK, how is that knowledge actionable by traders then?

Safest way to make 1% per month

Is it really though, if you went out and bought one today....and factored in all your operating costs and vacancies using actual historical values? I know folks who bought even a couple years ago might see this. But that's really reflecting the fact that real estate prices popped and they aren't...

What's your view on natural gas long term?

What is the capacity to export LNG US to Europe, just out of curiosity?

Wealthy people are renouncing American citizenship

OK, bit of a misunderstanding on basic definitions of subjective and objective, to start. And what bearing does your personal opinion on CA have to do with anything I stated again? I know, those pesky facts are inconvenient, best to just ignore them, right?

Wealthy people are renouncing American citizenship

You can point to individual projects you disagree with all day long, but the inconvenient fact still remains that the state produces a far outsized portion of the countries GDP. And contributes far more in federal tax revenue than it benefits from in federal programs, if you want to open up...

The Worst Accounting Scandals At U.S. Companies

It was pure market manipulation, very illegal but still pretty easy to do to this day in the actual physical electricity markets by their nature. If you look at FERC civil penalties you see guys still trying to do it all the time today although not getting away with it. Enron would shut down...

Can I get around PDT rule by moving long term investments?

Sounds like you're stuck doing that. Just be aware that in my experience at least the losing broker isn't in any hurry about making this happen or responsive when you ask them where the process stands. So I'll back up the other posts saying to beware that those stocks may be stuck in a limbo...

Wealthy people are renouncing American citizenship

Funny that CA and Chicago produce a significant portion of the GDP in the U.S. and certainly far more GDP per capita than most of the rest of the country that isn't extracting a natural resource they lucked into sitting on top of. So it would seem that what you subjectively see as wasteful or...

    Second richest NBA player

My favorite is Chris Rock's explanation of the difference between rich and wealthy, “Shaq is rich, but the white man who signs his check is wealthy.” Few get wealthy from playing in the NBA, but the smart guys leverage their NBA experience to become wealthy.

The Worst Accounting Scandals At U.S. Companies

Highly recommend reading (not watching!) Smartest Guys in the Room for a very accurate and detailed yet readable account of Enron. There were actually two completely independent sets of fraud going on there, in addition to the accounting fraud they were also manipulating electricity markets...

Can I long and short simultaneously ?

It makes sense that you would feel that way. But if you work through it methodically it actually doesn't make any sense in reality. This is one of those places where our intuition let's us down.

Can I long and short simultaneously ?

Let's be perfectly clear here, there is absolutely no difference from a trading profit perspective from one simultaneously holding an identical long and short position and simply selling the long position, except that you'll end up paying more in commissions and spread. Please feel free to...
